To go out in my Christmas pj bottoms

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 14:06

Would you go out for a dog walk in xmas pj pyjamas and coat over?
V busy few days with egg hunts for Dd, shopping, school things to organise etc
We’re on Easter holidays, it’s rainy on and off, cold and v windy, but my dog desperately needs to go out.
Would you throw a coat on and walk to the nearby green/woods (it’s two houses down and highly unlikely I will encounter anyone)

No. Bit skanky. It doesn’t take a minute to change.

Tel12 · 27/03/2024 17:28

No. Don't answer the door in PJ's.

misskatamari · 27/03/2024 17:28

I wear my Christmas joggers out at this time of year, can’t imagine pjs look that dissimilar 😄

Kinneddar · 27/03/2024 17:29

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 15:10

Is it weird I don’t really care

So why bother asking peoples opinion

@PutASpellOnYou Feel better how? It’s a stormy day out, i‘m home with my little girl and dog, by the fire, under a duvet, reading together and eating mini eggs and we’re both v comfy in our pjs…I don’t feel bad at all, I love being comfortable. I’ve spent days on end rushing to work, school things, friends meet ups, shopping etc…days I shower, wash my hair, wear make up etc..all fine, but I love days like this. To throw on a coat and boots to walk two seconds away, surely doesn’t make me look mentally unwell 🙈

But nobody knows all the things you’ve just said.
All they see is a woman, out in the rain wearing Xmas trousers in March.
You would look decidedly odd. 🤷🏼‍♀️

OwlBasket · 27/03/2024 19:23

I gardened in my Christmas jumper today as it happen. Big black cardy over. These things can happen 🤷‍♀️

Woodworm2020 · 27/03/2024 19:26

Just take the two mins it would take to put some trousers on. The whole PJ thing is a terrible terrible look

OwlBasket · 27/03/2024 19:33

MIL and teenage DD make a sport of wearing the most ridiculous possible combination of pj based dog walking outfits to take MILs dog out for the early Sunday morning walk. They claim never to have managed to be the most ridiculously dressed early Sunday dog walkers seen on the outing. Who knows. she lives in a city centre.

I think most people accept dog walking in the early morning/late evening to happen in a sort of imaginary extension of the home. It’s rude to notice what dog walkers are wearing at these times. My MIL is very rude

crochetmonkey74 · 27/03/2024 20:04

Last week I saw two women in asda with their kids. It was about midday. They both had full pjs, dressing gowns and slippers on, and hair all messy in a bun. I actually thought they were being sponsored or something but it became apparent they were not. I think it's weird and attention seeking

aintnospringchicken · 27/03/2024 20:17

Nope. The only time I ever go outside the house in my pjs is to hang out washing in my back garden.I have my washing machine timed to finish a load by the time I get up so I just remove it and hang it out straight away.

ViaMargutta · 27/03/2024 21:37

I'm so cool, I don't care what other people think! But also...would you go out in your pjs?

The answer: no, no I wouldn't. Never did and never will. Because I have (at least some) standards, and because it takes 30 seconds to put any 'outside' trousers/jeans/leggings/tracksuit bottoms on.

TeenyTinyCrocodile · 27/03/2024 21:41

Yes, I would, because for me, getting (so many) things done that need doing with the minimum of fuss, especially caring for a leaving breathing person or animal, is more important than whether it's "the done thing".

(I don't actually have a dog, or wear my indoor bed and loungewear outside unless I'm going to wash it afterwards, but I definitely do do things that are similar.)

NearlyBritishSummertimeYay · 27/03/2024 21:56

I wouldn't because I'd be sure to bump into someone I know. Just the way my luck runs.

plus my Christmas stuff has been put away for next Christmas. IMO it looks daft out of season & I like to keep the novelty & condition of the clothing for the Christmas Season

They do look cosy though, so I'd have changed into something else knowing they were waiting for me- cosy & clean.

MY question though is, why have you already done EE Hunts for DD, it's not even Easter yet.

TeaWithHobnobs · 27/03/2024 22:14

I was wondering about this too, why are you doing the easter egg hunts before Easter?

In answer to your question - no, there's no way I would step outside the front door in pj's. I love cosy, relaxed days lounging around in pj's but if I need to take the dog out I quickly change into a pair of black leggings, throw my coat and shoes on and I'm ready, takes less than a minute.

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 22:17

It was with a group of friends, some of whom won’t be here exactly on Easter Sunday itself, we do another one with neighbour friends then. Dd has also already done one at school too

TotoroElla · 27/03/2024 22:20

I wouldn't...but especially as the Christmas pattern will draw attention to them! But if it's cold wouldn't you want to put some warm outdoor clothes on??

IloveAslan · 28/03/2024 02:32

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 15:14

I would never EVER go to a shop in pjs 🥺I’m talking about a patch of green/woods a couple of steps from my home
Good point about possibly getting them wet though, so I will have to put jeans on
Nobody ever had a very lazy day?!

I'm having a very lazy day today - and I'm fully dressed!

mellongoose · 28/03/2024 07:02

I'm sorry but I would think you were lazy, attention seeking or both. You did ask! 🤷‍♀️

SoozyWoozy5 · 28/03/2024 07:13

Seriously, how hard is it to put leggings on..

saraclara · 28/03/2024 07:14

I'm a very lazy person. Too lazy to have a dog that I'd have to walk when I'm tired. But slipping off my pyjamas and putting on jeans has never felt like hard work.

fightingthedogforadonut · 28/03/2024 07:18

Nope.

beanii · 01/04/2024 13:08

Oh come on it takes seconds to put clothes on 🤷‍♀️

Have some self respect.

Mimimimi1234 · 01/04/2024 13:10

I dont have an issue with this in theory but I wouldnt do it as guaranteed it would be that one day that everyone I ever knew and have ever known will decide to visit that exact spot all dressed for some secret black tie do and I would be there in my pyjamas having to hide behind a tree.

Sjh15 · 01/04/2024 13:10

Yes. Who cares. It’s taking the dog out. You don’t need jeans on for a quick dog walk!!
i honestly can’t believe the amount of judgemental people here! It’s a quick dog walk! I’ve done it at 6am countless times, doesn’t mean I’m lazy or a slob or have no self respect! People are so dramatic

beanii · 01/04/2024 13:10

So nice and snuggled etc and happy to go out and potentially get dirty and pick up dog sh*to and then come in and carry on?

Gross.

It takes 2 seconds to put clothes on.
