To go out in my Christmas pj bottoms

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 14:06

Would you go out for a dog walk in xmas pj pyjamas and coat over?
V busy few days with egg hunts for Dd, shopping, school things to organise etc
We’re on Easter holidays, it’s rainy on and off, cold and v windy, but my dog desperately needs to go out.
Would you throw a coat on and walk to the nearby green/woods (it’s two houses down and highly unlikely I will encounter anyone)

YABU because they should be Easter jammies.

I would never EVER go to a shop in pjs 🥺I’m talking about a patch of green/woods a couple of steps from my home
Good point about possibly getting them wet though, so I will have to put jeans on
Nobody ever had a very lazy day?!

I’d probably go to my local co op in those trousers op.
im not attention seeking.
its 2 mins away if that, literally across one road. People are so judgmental it’s awful!!!! Would anyone judge a child? What if they were autistic and that’s the only trousers they’d wear?
who cares. It’s trousers.

I wouldn’t go to a restaurant in them of course

TheBerry · 01/04/2024 13:18

I’d personally put trousers on, and not sure why you aren’t when it only takes 10 seconds? But also if you wanna go out in PJs no judgement. Go for it. I just don’t completely understand the reasoning.

PlantDoctor · 01/04/2024 13:18

Literally did this yesterday! Only a quick dog wee then I was off for a shower, so I didn't want to get changed, come back and get undressed, then redressed again. I was fully clothed. Not sure why it particularly matters! I don't wear them to the shops, but 2 mins down the road with the dog is hardly offensive to others!

Moonshine5 · 01/04/2024 13:18

No

Pootle23 · 01/04/2024 13:19

I personally wouldn’t because I think it looks lazy, but if you want to look lazy and slobby go for it.

I assume you’ll be wearing them all day and then back in bed…gross as your “too tired”. 🤮

CoffeeCup14 · 01/04/2024 13:34

If I'm going out to buy a paper on Saturday morning to read in bed, I swap my pj bottoms for jeans (occasionally put the jeans over the pjs) and put a coat on over the top. I want to keep my pjs as cosy as possible.

But if you want to, go for it. If it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, why not?

All the people on this thread who think you'll feel better for it, or insist on getting dressed every day would benefit from realising that people are different, that some people like things that they don't, that people have different preferences and standards.

@PutASpellOnYou Feel better how? It’s a stormy day out, i‘m home with my little girl and dog, by the fire, under a duvet, reading together and eating mini eggs and we’re both v comfy in our pjs…I don’t feel bad at all, I love being comfortable. I’ve spent days on end rushing to work, school things, friends meet ups, shopping etc…days I shower, wash my hair, wear make up etc..all fine, but I love days like this. To throw on a coat and boots to walk two seconds away, surely doesn’t make me look mentally unwell 🙈

You are absolutely right OP. Ignore the haters. This doesn’t make you lazy, or ‘slovenly’ or mentally unwell (?!!). It makes you a responsible dog owner, that is literally it. Enjoy your PJ day!

No. . honestly it doesn't take 2 mins to get changed

Noglitterallowed · 01/04/2024 14:10

In parr with the people that do the school run in pjs! Takes two minutes to throw something on. Can’t be that tired of going on a dog walk surely? I’d assume you escaped from somewhere

No, have some respect for yourself and put on some pants. Don’t go out looking like a scruff in pyjamas..

maddiemookins16mum · 01/04/2024 14:42

How can an Easter Egg hunt (or two) equate to a few very busy days. You’re over egging it, if you cba, you can’t be be arsed but I’ve never gone out in pj bottoms when it takes 10 seconds to pull on some other bottoms.

YABU

How does posting a thread about Christmas trousers and waiting for responses whilst the dog is "desperate to go out", as per the opening post, make op a responsible dog owner? 🤔

SimplyTheGuest · 01/04/2024 15:00

If I saw you @Howcananyonehatereading I'd high five you! 👋

And as for those who think its attention seeking? Jeez! Have a word with yourselves 🙄

Livelovebehappy · 01/04/2024 16:08

There seems to be similar thinking at my local supermarket. Twice I’ve gone in over the last couple of weeks to see people wondering around in their pjs and a coat. It literally takes less than a minute to put on some jeggings.

Seriously? I would say the opposite re responsible dog owner. Dogs need exercise, and by what op has said, sounds like a quick two minute trot to the back of some houses before returning home again.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 01/04/2024 16:38

No 🤢

It's not hard to put on clothes and have a quick wash before leaving the house.

Like a grown up.

AgileMentor · 01/04/2024 17:24

christ people saying the OP is being VERY unreasonable 🤣 no being very unreasonable would be going out with her bare arse showing

Tahlullah · 01/04/2024 21:14

I don’t know why some people are saying they wouldn’t leave their house. I’m not so extreme that I wouldn’t even go to my outside bin down my drive! But that would be it. I’d go to my garage, go get something out of my car in my PJ’s and I have been know to walk a few doors down late at night to try get my cat in. But I wouldn’t choose to go ‘out out’ in my PJs in any circumstances, whether they were Christmas ones or otherwise.

IndigoLaFaye · 01/04/2024 22:58

Simple answer from me. Yes. I’m covered up. Really don’t see the issue

mitogoshi · 01/04/2024 23:03

Never, I walk ddog before I get undressed and get dressed in the morning before walking him. Going out in pjs is never acceptable over the age of compulsory school in my opinion

MrsSunshine2b · 02/04/2024 13:49

I really don't see why it matters. PJs, jogging bottoms, leggings- who cares, so long as you're not airing your private parts to all the world.

True. I don’t think “but you can’t see my fanny or my arse” is much of a dress code for life.

PeachOtter · 02/04/2024 18:52

BoohooWoohoo · 27/03/2024 14:19

I wouldn’t go out in pjs but would wear Christmas ones all year round.

I went to my friends house in my Christmas pj gown and slippers today. I'm not getting dressed to go and see her for an hour then come home and get back in my pjs. She also comes to mine in PJ's.
