To go out in my Christmas pj bottoms

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 14:06

Would you go out for a dog walk in xmas pj pyjamas and coat over?
V busy few days with egg hunts for Dd, shopping, school things to organise etc
We’re on Easter holidays, it’s rainy on and off, cold and v windy, but my dog desperately needs to go out.
Would you throw a coat on and walk to the nearby green/woods (it’s two houses down and highly unlikely I will encounter anyone)

They look very cosy. Leave them on.

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 15:25

@PutASpellOnYou Feel better how? It’s a stormy day out, i‘m home with my little girl and dog, by the fire, under a duvet, reading together and eating mini eggs and we’re both v comfy in our pjs…I don’t feel bad at all, I love being comfortable. I’ve spent days on end rushing to work, school things, friends meet ups, shopping etc…days I shower, wash my hair, wear make up etc..all fine, but I love days like this. To throw on a coat and boots to walk two seconds away, surely doesn’t make me look mentally unwell 🙈

Hmmm...well I wouldn't be seen dead in those indoors, in the dark, at Christmas.

But it's your choice.

Dear God I hate this place.

@pootlin 😂 Crazy isn’t it

I agree - how long does it take to whip on a pair of leggings or TBottoms.

Any need for that? FFS.

We have a field at the back of our house used by lots of dog walkers. There are often people in their pyjamas. I sometimes go in my onesie with a big coat over! Nobody seems to care.

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 15:48

@Blueeyes13 Ok you’ve convinced me 😁

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 27/03/2024 15:50

I wouldn't. I've never owned Christmas pyjamas or gone anywhere in pyjamas though. I don't understand why putting a pair of trousers on is considered such an effort tbh.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 27/03/2024 15:50

I mean... by the time you'd bothered typing the OP, you could have put trousers on. Baffling!

EmilyPlay · 27/03/2024 15:53

It's a bit windy out. Wear a Santa hat to keep your head warm.

Then why pose a question when you are already so sure of the answer?

WhatsTheUseOfWorrying · 27/03/2024 16:03

Have some self-respect. Get dressed.

Howcananyonehatereading · 27/03/2024 16:37

Went, it was fine, saw a neighbour walking his dog, whether he went home and told his wife how shocking it was to see me in xmas pjs or whether he didn’t even notice, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
Glenthebattleostrich · 27/03/2024 16:41

Well i regularly walk the dog on a morning in my PJ's so I must be responsible for all the worlds woes! I can't be arsed to get dressed before I shower so i just roll out of bed and take her for her 20 minutes run.

Youdontevengohere · 27/03/2024 16:42

I’m sure you invested far more energy in this thread than it would have taken to put some trousers on!

KreedKafer · 27/03/2024 17:08

I mean, I personally wouldn't, but I certainly wouldn't think it was any of my business if someone else did!

Notamum12345577 · 27/03/2024 17:09

I have seen lots of people on the school run in their PJs, so why not? 😁

DillyDilly · 27/03/2024 17:16

In the time it would have taken to write your post, you would have changed into something else.

PutOnYourRedShoesAndLetsDance · 27/03/2024 17:19

If you're going to change them when you get back home.
They obviously would have been clean ones after your morning shower.. so why not just put something else on instead..

SallyWD · 27/03/2024 17:24

No never! I'm not ridiculously prissy but really I have some standards and going out in pyjamas just isn't great (in my opinion). It takes about 5 seconds to change trousers. It takes much longer to post about it on Mumsnet!

Missmariannedashwood · 27/03/2024 17:26

You’re never too busy to get dressed, too lazy maybe.

Moveoverdarlin · 27/03/2024 17:26

You must be incredibly busy to not be able to switch them for a pair of leggings or joggers. How long does it take to to take PJs off and leggings on? 5 seconds? Tops.

Sorry I think it’s slovenly.

MississippiAF · 27/03/2024 17:27

Never. Ever. Ever.

How hard is it to put on a pair of leggings?
