I don't know how it happened

Had one at 11am and liked it so much I had another.

One when walking the dog then another when I came back to warm me up with tea.

Two when watching a crap film, the repeat for Netflix

Then two must've jumped into my mouth

Have the "I'm so teeny tiny dinky winky I couldn't even possibly contemplate this so i just sniff a creme egg every Easter Sunday and that's enough" tribe rocked up yet?

OP YANBU. Fucking love creme eggs

Wow - any need for such vitriol?

Allfur · 24/03/2024 12:40

So 10 alcoholic drinks in one day is OK?

Why are you asking this?

BreatheAndFocus · 24/03/2024 12:41

Trulyme · 24/03/2024 10:49

Yes you are correct.

My post was in reply to a poster who suggested her type 1 was due to too many creams eggs in a jokey way, so I was just pointing out that type 1 and type 2 are very different and type 2 is usually caused by diet but type 1 isn’t.

I wasn’t suggesting my Type 1 was due to Creme eggs. I was being sarcastic - hence the eye rolling 🙄 because I was very pissed off at the usual crap being trotted out about “diabetes” and so pointed out that Type 1 was an auto-immune condition.

The Daily Mail is a big culprit for this - putting different conditions (the different types of diabetes) under one “diabetes”. This makes people think that all types of diabetes are related to diet and lifestyle and can be reversed, etc.

I've never understood on mumsnet why one type of addiction is seen as ok, but the rest are terrible

I didnt see OP mention an addiction, can you elaborate?

TwirlyWhirlie · 24/03/2024 12:44

Last week I ate a large Easter egg and two packets of mini eggs. I felt a bit sick afterwards but it was 😋 I don’t have an Easter egg now so it’s a good excuse to buy another one 😜

soupfiend · 24/03/2024 12:38

You said its greedy and odd

Whether you avoid sugar is neither here nor there, its your judgement of others food intake I was questioning

I also cant take a lot of sugar for a number of health reasons, I get ill. I wouldnt think someone who can eat a lot of it is 'greedy and odd'.

Really unnecessary language there.

I used the word 'odd' back to you as you used it in your post when you said that no one would think those eating habits are odd - I would and certainly so in an adult.
And yes it IS greedy - so what? Eating 10 creme eggs in a day is also greedy but you seem perfectly ok with that.

soupfiend · 24/03/2024 12:43

I would have thought it's a sugar addiction

Nicelynicelyjohnson · 24/03/2024 12:47

Many people on here don't seem to get the difference between having 10 creme eggs in one day and having 10 creme eggs every day.
The latter could lead to health problems, the former should just be a fun thread.

TheTimeIsNowMaybeNow · 24/03/2024 12:49

I love them but my teeth don't anymore, I think the most I've managed is 5 in a day

Did have about 10 alcoholic drinks Friday though, I'm not addicted to alcohol or sugar

Allfur · 24/03/2024 12:51

10 alcoholic drinks in one day would seem hell of alot for a non drinker

How do you know? Have you ever tried going without both for a few weeks?

Cleaningupthemess · 24/03/2024 12:56

Last Easter Sunday I bought myself an Easter Egg. I had some for breakfast, some for lunch and the rest in the evening. It was a very nice day. That’s what I love about living on my own and being old. No one to judge, allowing myself a day of indulgence and feeling ok about it. I am 8 stone, eat well most of the time, so a day of eating absolute crap isn’t something I’m going to beat myself up about.

I can happily go without either for months

Over40Overdating · 24/03/2024 12:59

@Allfur no one mentioned addiction except you.

I do think there is a very problematic and widespread addiction on MN though - the addiction to being a self righteous, moralistic thread shitter in a bid to show people how much better you are because you are ‘healthy’ and therefore ‘better’ than everyone else, often whilst blowing something completely out of context to really get the judgement in.

People with an unbalanced view of food in either direction are as unhealthy as each other but there are far many more orthorexics getting in a faint about people ‘gorging’ (never eating) an occasional unhealthy food than there are people going on threads to criticise ‘healthy’ eating, which is often just diet culture or disordered eating under the guise of health.

If a total stranger eating crème eggs at Easter gets you whipped into an addiction mindset with zero context, it’s not the OP who has an issue with food.

RainingCatsandfrogs · 24/03/2024 13:02

You want to try working in a shop that starts selling them from the week after Xmas.
I've eaten loads and still not sick of the sight of them, luckily l don't put weight on, but obviously they are not healthy eating for sure. Tastes so much nicer than a lettuce or cabbage though.

WithACatLikeTread · 24/03/2024 13:03

That sounds very sickly. I am impressed though. I prefer the caramel eggs instead.

Timeturnerplease · 24/03/2024 13:08

I hate Crème Eggs but I’ve not been able to eat for days with a diarrhoea bug and I could absolutely eat a vat of chocolate right now if it weren’t for the fear of a rapid exit afterwards.

No judgement here.

Combattingthemoaners · 24/03/2024 13:22

It never fails to amaze me how miserable some people truly are on here. Get a life! She’s had 10 cream eggs not 10 wraps of heroin.

Chylka · 24/03/2024 13:39

Creme eggs are not smaller than in the 70s.
they’re actually very marginally bigger

Dontcallmescarface · 24/03/2024 13:50

I don't like creme eggs, but won't judge you as I ate 5 caramel Freddos in one sitting last week.....bloody lovely they were too.

colouredball · 24/03/2024 13:53

Allfur · 24/03/2024 12:51

It would be a lot, yes. It wouldn't be addiction though, particularly in a non alcohol drinker.

However if you want to compare then start equally. It's unlikely OP is a 'non sugar eater', she over indulged as to many people who drink alcohol occasionally. None of this makes it an addiction.

If you want to discuss addiction, learn what it is first.

To be fair, you sound more whipped up than me

thesleepyhoglet · 24/03/2024 13:54

I like my chocolate but even that is too much

BobnLen · 24/03/2024 14:10

Probably not much worse sugarwise than troughing a box of Lindt Lindors which I have done on several occasions. Very nice too.

Tessisme · 24/03/2024 14:11

You have thrown down the gauntlet. I have eaten one today. Just 10 more to take your crown OP. Better get chomping😆
