VestibuleVirgin · 12/03/2024 07:15

Frank Hestor reportedly said: “It’s like trying not to be racist but you see Diane Abbott on the TV, and you’re just like… you just want to hate all black women because she’s there.
“And I don’t hate all black women at all, but I think she should be shot.
“(The executive) and Diane Abbott need to be shot.”

Abominable, disgusting. Aibu to be incecsed by this?
Money allows all sorts of behaviours apparently, particularly if you give a lot of it to a political party.

I'm fine love. I'm glad this thread is giving people something to get the pulse racing in their otherwise boring lives.

Rather be boring than racist

When all else fails go ad hominem.

How can something racist not be racially motivated? How exactly does that work?

I mean the comment sounds racist but I don't think he made the comment because she is a black woman.

Wow, how pathetic. I am proud of being neither, thanks.

"She makes me hate all black women?"

How does your brain work?

scorpiogirly · 12/03/2024 21:43

Just allow others to have their opinion without dumping all over them.

L1ttledrummergirl · 12/03/2024 21:43

Clavinova · 12/03/2024 21:28

I'm missing your point - I'm not victim blaming at all.

Then of what relevance is Diane’s 2012 comments to what is being discussed?

When is a racist comment not racist? When it’s directed at a black woman? Listen to yourself.

LadyKenya · 12/03/2024 21:45

I normally give PMQs a miss, due in part to the infantile goings on. But, yes it should be interesting to see what will be said Tomorrow.

Do you think racist supporting views should go unchallenged then?

scorpiogirly · 12/03/2024 21:46

Hard work. As you were.

BIossomtoes · 12/03/2024 21:28

Par for the course though. It’s nearly impossible to get through a thread without the trans issue being introduced regardless of relevance.

And entirely deliberate last ditch attempt to try and garner some approval. Tried and tested tactic.

cakeorwine · 12/03/2024 21:48

I think Gove is trying to announce his extremism changes this week - I hope that he gets asked questions about taking donations from racists who suggest shooting MPs.

LadyKenya · 12/03/2024 21:49

Quite@cakeorwine No doubt he will squirm his way through a response.

I mean the comment sounds racist but I don't think he made the comment because she is a black woman.

So you think he would have said "she makes me want to hate all black women" if she was a white woman?

Goodness.

Hatred never makes the world a better place.

You say you are not affected by hatred but it appears that the younger generation of young white men are affected. They are being radicalised by extremists who are picking up on their alienation caused, in part, by unrelenting hatred of their sex.

You might have the advantage of being a successful man and all criticism therefore bounces off you. Afterall alpha males are not going to weep over a bit of criticism. But don't forget there are many white men who are not successful. They will be affected by criticism, particularly if that criticism is undeserved.

Your last comment is not as profound as you think it is. Racism and misogyny are built on hate. They thrive on hate. They exist because of hate. There is also an abuse of power, but if there was no hate the power would not be abused.

Happily we have created a world where some of the power now lies in the hands of women and black people. You would allow those powerful women and black people to bully unsuccessful men. Shame on you.

There is also a type of man who likes to curry favour with women by criticising other men. He sees his role as a hero, a saviour of women. He is not like other men. He is far better. They might or might not be alpha males.

It's not the same thing though, is it?

So why has he referenced her colour?

Firstly, I wasn't forced to apologise for sharing a meme I didn't know was fake at the time of posting, I chose to apologise.

Secondly, just from the replies I've had just now, they seem very hostile. Nobody can 'see through me', you can't even begin to know me. And some or the replies are very rich coming from someone who thinks my 5 Yr old daughter should be forced to share spaces with a person who has a penis. I don't know where uou far lefters get your thinking from.

I’ve read it all. You are victim blaming by using any and all references to Labour MPs doing things you deem unacceptable and continually bringing up DA’s own errors.

It’s pretty gross, but entirely expected of someone who believes the Tories can do no wrong.
