While I do agree with everything you just said, I find it astonishing that insults and slurs aimed at Pritti Patel, Kemi Badenoch and Suella Braverman on MN go largely unreported. The people who usually claim to care so much about racism and misogyny towards DA don't seem to care at all about abuse flung at Tory WOC.
Obviously if something is overtly racist, it will be deleted. But with DA it's often the case that, even when criticism of her on MN or social media in general has been triggered by her yet again opening her mouth and putting one of her oddly shod feet in it by saying something inaccurate, nonsensical or offensive, she is seen as untouchable on MN and anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly just a racist who is out to bring her down.
Whereas with the three Tory WOC the same rules do seem to not apply, even if they haven't actually said anything specific that is massively stupid or problematic. Just the mere fact of their existence as Tories doing their jobs seems to be enough to make them fair game.
A case in point is that there is are posts on MN where someone called Pritti Patel a 'that vile bitch; and another called Suella Braverman 'a fucking bitch.'
If anyone had said that about DA it would have been reported and deleted within minutes. Even a post just calling her 'vile' would get deleted, let alone a 'vile bitch.'
I have no respect whatsoever for most of DA's opinions and I do not share her politics, though I do respect her for being a trailblazer for black British women in general. I think she says some pretty questionable and revolting things but I would NEVER call her a vile bitch, either publicly or privately.
Yet the same people who leap to the defence of DA and insist that any criticism of her simply must be rooted in racism don't feel at all exercised to show the same levels of outrage when someone on MN calls PP or SB a vile/fucking bitch. They don't seem to find it offensive or misogynistic and presumably they don't jump to the conclusion that it's rooted in racism either. It's very strange.
