There are always so many disappointed Mother's day threads, I wanted to create a positive one.

I'm having an amazing day because:

I was able to snuggle with my young dcs in bed this morning.

Dh brought me a coffee up, and the dcs drinks, which we drank in bed together. We played, laughed, and cuddled.

DH made dc's breakfast. I could hear dc1 complaining about "daddy's fried egg" and how it wasn't "Mummy's poachies." He ended up enjoying said eggs. All of the chatter brought a smile to my face.

I could hear their little voices downstairs, writing my cards out, and saying not finished, need to write or colour this, etc. They excitedly came upstairs to give me them, my 4 year old, so proud of his scribbles all over the card he chose. My other dc who is on the spectrum wrote it all out himself without prompting, was able to say happy mother's day, be upbeat etc, without being overwhelmed ( he hasn't been like that before, as usually hates any fuss). I was so touched and proud of him.

The cards meant the world, but on top of it, they proudly presented me with an M&S "Big Daddy" bar. This is a beast of a chocolate bar, like something Willy Wonka has made. I mean, come on, what is better than that??

I am currently lying in bed with a cup of tea, about to have a bath, with salts, and my new towelling robe dh got earlier in the week. I'm recently bereaved, so I had been a bit down.

What more could I ask for? I have a beautiful family. We're imperfectly perfect, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyway, I would love to hear why today is amazing for you, too.

I have snuggled both my babies today, now sleeping next to the eldest

I'm having an amazing mother's day because my youngest snuck down early morning, wrote me 3 'cards' (bits of paper with I luf yoo mumee) and found some old, used envelopes in the letter holder to put them in, and sealed the envelopes with blu tac. It was the cutest thing ever.

The eldest made me bacon sandwiches so he gets kudos too.

12yr old DD put a lot of thought and effort (and DH’s cash!) into putting a lovely hamper together with bath bombs, hair mask, foot cream, sweets, my favourite coffee syrup etc. It was from her & DS, but I know full well she was the one who put the work in. She’s a bit hormonal and stroppy at the moment so I was really touched. 14yr old DS came out of his room for the day and spent some proper time with us. DH cooked a phenomenal steak dinner with a cheeseboard afterwards. DH & DC cleared up afterwards whilst I finished off my glass of wine. It’s been a lovely day.

My 5 year old dd has asked me so many time s ‘are you having a nice Mother’s Day’ I’m so chuffed, feeling a proud mum as she is being so sweet.

All our adult kids remembered. Given that three of the four are my stepchildren it means the world.

Took the dogs for a walk with DS13. He can't walk far as he is receiving chemotherapy for an aggressive cancer. He asked if we could walk past the shop, so I waited outside with the dogs while he went in.

He came out with a chocolate bar just for me and said 'Happy Mother's Day'

Made me cry x

For me it was the card. My DDs wrote such beautiful words about how much they appreciate me. I felt very loved!

I got a card the size of me declaring me to be a superhero and some Lego flowers that me and DD can do together. Best moment was yesterday when she said to me "You're still a brilliant mummy even though you're wobbly cos I know you try your best" For context I'm recently disabled and it's severely limited the things I can now do with DD who is only 6 and the mum guilt I feel around it is IMMENSE. To hear that from her had be actually sobbing at the dinner table.

It’s my first Mother’s Day. I’ve wanted to be a Mum for as long as I can remember, I always had baby dolls and pretended to be a mum, I spent my life imagining what my children would be like and now my little girl is here and she’s more than I ever could have imagined.
I spent the day with my girl, my mum and my Nan and I just feel so incredibly lucky.

I'm not bothered by Mothers Day to be honest but I had a nice day. DS17 brought a card and gift to me when he surfaced at 11am. He had something DD19 had sent from uni a week or so before so I still got cards and gifts from both my kids.

We went to lunch at MILs and told her about her gift which is a holiday in June with our family (she was diagnosed with a life limiting illness recently and this is a place she has never been to but always wanted to go). She was very happy so that was a lovely part of the day.

DH is out tonight so I've had a great evening watching films he would hate Grin

It's my first mother's day as a mum and the first time in a while I've celebrated it as my mum died a while ago. I got a lovely card and flowers from my child (daddy may have helped) and, unexpectedly, lovely messages from family and friends who know how hard it has been for me to become a mother

Ds made me a cuppa in bed this morning, dd visited for the day from uni, had lovely cards and flowers, we chilled, watched films, chatted for ages, ate sandwiches and cake, it was lovely, only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if my mum could have come over but she lives far away, still got to have a chat with her this morning.

I've had the best Mother's Day, my 4 year old woke me up (after a lie in) saying 'come downstairs mommy I've got something for you'. I was greeted with a lovely breakfast made by my fiancé, presents, flowers and a card which DS wrote himself for the first time, out of everything that card was my favourite as I love his writing. We then went out for lunch which was lovely and then came home to watch the football and I did some wedding admin. What a lovely day, hope everyone else has enjoyed their day.

My adult DC and lovely son in law came over and cooked a beautiful meal and I had flowers, a candle, chocs and an Emma Bridgewater bowl with poppies on. It has been a really lovely day.
