Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

Young poster who had 2 children with a weed user and she seemed to have a prescription drug issue herself. She was told time and time again to get out but didn't. Her kid didn't even have a winter coat as he smoked away all the family finances and didn't work. I always think of those two kids with fuckwit parents and really hope that SS found them. Her username was cocodemoll or something.

Was that RunningIn The Rain? So inspirational!

Yes that's the one!

Fluffydressinggown. I always think of her doing her colouring in and what she went through.

I think of her a lot still and I am not one to remember posters particularly. RIP

Sixparrots · 10/03/2024 14:33

BloodyWhiteCat vanished after a thread didn’t have the requisite fawning and exclamations of what a wonderful person she was.

Bluntness should have been named Rudeness.

I was thinking of the lady called Pamela the other day who posted throughout her illness and up to her death. And of her husband and son.

So was I. That was so hard.

CavalierApproach · 10/03/2024 14:34

Or rather, GentleOtter (sorry, was typing with the wrong hand before) — she had a remote farm in Scotland and they went through a lot of stuff. Around the same period as Riven, iirc

LivingColour · 10/03/2024 14:35

I was just this morning thinking about a poster and hoping she was having a wonderful Mother’s Day.

She posted a couple of years ago at Christmas about visiting Santa. She had three older teenager children - one with severe SEN. She said that she was just going to take that one to see Santa as they still believed, but her other two insisted they came as well as it’s what they did as a family. That really got to me.

Poster - if you see this I hope you’re having a wonderful Mother’s Day!

slightly less sentimental… the poster who made an owl noise at her colleague when arguing about Yogurt will live rent free in my head forever.

The poster who was clearly very, very mentally unwell with extreme health anxiety.

It was always about her DC, that she'd taken them on a playdate or something and later found out there were cases of chicken pox at the school the playdate went to so now her DC was going to die and she was picking out what clothes she wanted them to be buried in.

She'd name change all the time but was so recognisable and her threads often got heated because people became so frustrated with her.

I remember this poster. She changed names all the time but it was so obvious. She was convinced she or her dc were about to die all the time. I always hoped it was a troll but I suspect it was someone with extreme anxiety. Posting here was not helping

Newyearnewusername2024 · 10/03/2024 14:36

Yes same @OurfriendsintheNE Pamela of WilsonMilson thread. What a star. I still think about this courageous and beautiful lady and the family she left behind. Pamela is amazing and really left a mark on here and with me xxx

DrMadelineMaxwell · 10/03/2024 14:37

eatshitderek was hilarious - then outed by someone rudely and changed names.

NuttellaAndPuppyLover · 10/03/2024 14:37

Definitely Lesley. I actually attended her funeral with TwitterQueen. We lost so many of the Lacies from the old cancer threads :(
There was also purpleunicorn who also had ovarian cancer. Her posts were also super helpful and honest. Also dearly missed.

There was a thread on this quite recently. It descended into an old poster love in and some of them miraculously reappeared to exchange air kisses.

Most of them are probably here under name changes anyway.

And posting about how much they miss themselves on here 🤣. Tragic.

againmaeve · 10/03/2024 14:38

@Nousernamesleftatall biscuits and bandages for me too.

Newyearnewusername2024 · 10/03/2024 14:39

Ps happy mothers day Pamela x

LamonicBibber1 · 10/03/2024 14:39

A poster who said her husband punched a freshly baked cake that she'd left cooling on the side. And he denied doing it. It was so sinister and threatening in an indirect way, I hope she got away from him in the end.

Dussa · 10/03/2024 14:40

Fluffydressinggown.
She struggled so much with her mental health difficulties but was kind and compassionate to others always. Sadly her difficulties became too much for her. I remember her.

RachelWalshsDog · 10/03/2024 14:40

Somerville: who was widowed then met a lovely new man and fell in love and married.
She was the most beautiful writer and it was a beautiful story.

LaQueen: because the boasting used to make me cringe so hard.

A very old and personal one: Quootiepie. She was very young and sweet with a shitty husband.

Love51 · 10/03/2024 14:41

@AnonymousWasAWoman was a favourite of mine I've not seen in a while, but may have just name changed.

SemperOmnibusFacultas · 10/03/2024 14:01

The poster who foststered a baby who was born addicted. She sadly died several years later.

I want to know about the poster who had a sail attached to her house by her neighbour, innocuous post really but want to find out if she had it resolved (sail/Sun shade, hooked onto he house)

I remember the foster mother you're talking about. I think she was called EarthMotherImNot. I was in floods reading that thread. I hope the foster daughter is thriving with her adoptive family.

I remember one like that. To do with doing things around the house then denying it, people suggested fitting cameras, I often think of this one.

BeGentleCrab · 10/03/2024 14:46

Gotta say I can't buy Cumberland sauce without thinking of crumbs 😆

And I first tried it because of her too.

That was some stellar trolling with some wonderful fantasies.

That Christmas eve when her DD was coming home and the captain of the ferry delayed embarkation because she was a trainee Dr and was late. And he announced it to the passengers so when she boarded, the entire ferry clapped her out of gratitude for the trainee Dr and the captain presented her with drinks and Mince pies.

Yes I miss Bluntness!

Do you?

I'm the opposite. I found her rude and contrary

ShinyPikachu · 10/03/2024 14:48

The poster with the duck pond and the little duck houses and ducklings. I think some stinky geese tried to join in at one point.

I loved those posts and following the duck exploits. I want to say one of the ducks was Eggwina I think?

I was thinking about the missing clock chains post the other day too. They must have joined the ironing board from another poster from years ago.
