Maybe I'm overacting but I don't think I am. The other day I was at a cafe with my friend (31F) and I was pouting my lips when she looked at me and said 'that reminds me' and started applying chapstick. I was a bit confused by this but then I realised what she meant and I was very angry. But then yesterday we went out again and I can't remember the conversation but I stuck my teeth out in a funny way and she looked me up and down and said in a smug voice 'I need to book my dentist appointment' and she set a reminder in her calendar. Am I overreacting or is this not on? And how do I approach it without sounding paranoid?

This level of boredom is next-level.

Well it could've been a positive thing like it reminded her she needs lip filler or something nice about my own lips rather than applying chapstick which is obviously implying my lips are dry. It is all negative with her.

I honestly couldn’t live my life overanalysing every little thing like this. Who thinks someone else putting chapstick on is a comment on their lips?! Bonkers.

Also, would saying “That reminds me - I need lip fillers” really have been a compliment?!

Is anyone else imagining the OP to be something like this - with her mate? 😬

I was also a little bemused that the op thinks saying that reminds me I need lip fillers is a nice thing to say 😂😂

like who says that.

TheGreatGherkin · 03/03/2024 15:51

Well you are a delicate little flower aren't you? People have given perfectly reasonable replies and you have gone down their throats. Are you usually so hypersensitive?

LenaLamont · 03/03/2024 15:51

You have Turkey teeth, lip filler, think you are far more attractive than the friend you keep gurning at and you can't type Fuck or Lesbian. And she's the one on the wrong?

I'm guessing OP is a bored 13 year old whose parents let her watch too much Love Island, and who hasn't challenged her own homophobia yet.

Lesbian isn't a dirty world, OP.

Treehuggingmutherfunkin · 03/03/2024 15:52

This is funny because wtf, even funnier are the replies 😂

When you sound immature then expect responses in like minded manner.

Sounds like you take offence at everything that happens to you, perhaps you need to look at why this is?

therealcookiemonster · 03/03/2024 16:00

just wanted to remind OP, it should be f*, you are missing one *. I am not normally a member of the spelling police (although it does trigger my OCD), but if you are going to replace the letters in fuck with asterisks, you may as well get the number correct. you are welcome

Nahhhhh, no-one has actually been horrible, most are just ribbing you/teasing/taking the piss a bit. I don't see malice or spite or hate anywhere though. And you have to admit, your posts are coming across as a bit bonkers. Don't worry. No-one is being nasty ... People are just teasing. They think your thread is entertaining! Smile

TheGreatGherkin · 03/03/2024 16:05

My husband farted in the supermarket the other day. I said that we needed beans, he didn't take offence.

NancyPickford · 03/03/2024 16:05

OP, can you tell us why you can't type 'lesbian' in full?

Illbebythesea · 03/03/2024 16:05

You sound highly sensitive about your looks tbh OP, if you weren’t you wouldn’t immediately jump to a negative. Our minds tend to do that when we’re already insecure about it.

buswankerz · 03/03/2024 16:08

@CustardySergeant I can't find it.

Well she could actually say that to my face instead of being smug about it. Why should I have to solve a puzzle to work out what she's trying to say!

It's hardly a puzzle - we are all saying the same thing. You are weird pulling faces at your friend. I manage fine communicating with people without pouting my lips or putting my teeth into a funny position.
