Maybe I'm overacting but I don't think I am. The other day I was at a cafe with my friend (31F) and I was pouting my lips when she looked at me and said 'that reminds me' and started applying chapstick. I was a bit confused by this but then I realised what she meant and I was very angry. But then yesterday we went out again and I can't remember the conversation but I stuck my teeth out in a funny way and she looked me up and down and said in a smug voice 'I need to book my dentist appointment' and she set a reminder in her calendar. Am I overreacting or is this not on? And how do I approach it without sounding paranoid?

You don’t stick your teeth out more you either pull your lower jaw in making your top teeth stick out, or you stick your lower jaw out, aka gurning.

Exactly, that's what I did. And yes, I had my teeth fitted with crowns in Turkey but calling it 'Turkey teeth' is very rude.

The asterix has sent me 😂

Maybe if you write it in italics people will whisper it rather than saying it out loud?

No it's not. 😆 They are crowns that people have fitted in Turkey that are often all the same size and very white, and so anyone who has teeth like this are known as having turkey teeth. 'Very rude???! 😆 Hardly!

Riiiight, so you're better looking than your friend, with your Rylan smile and Love Island lips, and she's just jealous and trying to tear you down, right?

I literally never call troll but this is starting to sound like a serious piss take.

I'll let the woman at work know that she's at risk of offending others with turkey teeth then... she has her own and openly tells people they're turkey teeth

Can she say lesbian out loud, tho?

LakeTiticaca · 03/03/2024 15:32

I used to pull funny faces but I grew out of it when I was about 10 🤣

QuestionableMouse · 03/03/2024 15:33

zunchie · 03/03/2024 14:06

Well it could've been a positive thing like it reminded her she needs lip filler or something nice about my own lips rather than applying chapstick which is obviously implying my lips are dry. It is all negative with her.

Why is lip filler a positive thing? From the sounds if it of shed said that you'd have had the huff over her implying you have thin lips.

You're being totally oversensitive and a drama llama quite frankly.

zunchie · 03/03/2024 14:29

I think deep down with context she has always been somewhat jealous of me which makes it worse. Without trying to sound like I think I look so much better than her, she isn't the best looking so I feel like she's trying to put me down for some reason. But I honestly have no reason to think why.

I'm sure she's jealous of your lip filler and and fake teeth.

SmileyClare · 03/03/2024 15:33

Oh thanks op.
That reminds me; I must stop looking at bullshit threads on Mumsnet

Deebee90 · 03/03/2024 15:37

you Probably look ridiculous and that’s why she is making hints. No one likes Turkey teeth or over filled lips they look absolutely vile. Your friend was being nice and asking you to stop making daft faces maybe don’t go out in public till you stop it

MrsDoubtfire24 · 03/03/2024 15:37

How did you want your friend to react to your stupid faces? I’d have walked out and left you making stupid faces on your own.

lap90 · 03/03/2024 15:39

Your friend sounds hilarious tbh.

I'm with @StaunchMomma

Fillers and crowns and censoring everything. Either someone has never been on MN before or they've been here a LOT and they know what gets the vipers riled up.

Blimy @zunchie I think you'd better go back to Insta and tiktok

Fannyfiggs · 03/03/2024 14:21

It could have been worse...

Your friend could have been reminded she needed a shit with your pouty lips and opened her beer bottle on your sticky out teeth.

So yeah, YABU.

🤭🤭🤭🤭

Greenpolkadot · 03/03/2024 15:45

Pouting ?
Your not 3 are you ,?

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 03/03/2024 15:47

It’s times like this that at 52 I’m pleased I don’t bother with filler etc, though I do have friends who do who are in their 40sz what’s with the caterpillar brushed upwards brows too?!
