Was reading that everyone's got aches and pains of some sort.
Nobody is without anything wrong.
Do you agree? X

Early 40s and no pain, other than a niggly knee if I run or do squats.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 02/03/2024 23:19

Yes I have Cerebral Palsy, and at 59, the pain has increased with age and I'm much more fatigued
I have to pace myself carefully so I can still do things I need and want to do
I take daily medication which keeps nerve and joint pain under control

JenniferandJuniper · 02/03/2024 23:23

Autoimmune condition, pain most days.

lljkk · 02/03/2024 23:31

Yes, but is very manageable (without medication). Mostly not noticeable. Started in my 20s. Tendonitis everywhere, basically.

I usually have mild DOMS from exercise. If I have a week off I’m completely fine 😂

Same

BigPussyEnergy · 02/03/2024 23:36

I’m 50 and have debilitating daily pain in my feet and hands, as well as general aches all over.

I have autoimmune conditions and I’m very overweight, so I know WHY I have pain, but it also makes it much harder to deal with, as I know losing weight/exercising would help, but when you’re in pain and everything is hard work, it’s very hard to motivate yourself to exercise. It’s chicken and egg for me.

RM2013 · 02/03/2024 23:36

49 and I have a bunion that causes me some
discomfort and I currently have a nerve impingement causing some discomfort in my right arm. I’m still able to exercise and carry on as normal hence why I consider it to be discomfort rather than pain

Neuronamechange · 02/03/2024 23:38

I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t in a degree of physical pain. On a good day it’s just a constant crushing ache, on my worst days I have resorted to self harm. It’s exhausting.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/03/2024 23:40

No. My knees hurt atm because I’ve let myself become too fat. I won’t be in 3 months though and they’ll be fine again (I’m 59).

LaWench · 02/03/2024 23:41

6m ago I had regular knee and foot pain. I've lost almost 2st and that has now gone. Other than period pain, I'm pretty much pain free.

Containerhome · 02/03/2024 23:44

32 with 4 kids. I always have aches and pains. Probably because I had all 4 close together plus breastfed for 10 years. Woth only about 6 months break total. Don't think my body recovered properly. I get migraines, acid reflux and general aches and pains like my lower back. I feel old.

Oh yeah and period pains. I get them the week leading up to it and then really heavy like multiple pads at a time bleeds.

And I'm just genuinely exhausted 3 weeks of the month.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 02/03/2024 23:47

Yep! Since late 20s - hypermobile, dodgy thyroid (medicated now), fatigue, migraines, provably something autoimmune as well.

Pearlyclouds · 02/03/2024 23:58

I think over 30 and intermittently.. I'm not in pain every single day luckily as I have no serious health issues.. however aches and pains are more frequent. Like if you just sleep at a,bad angle you then have joint pain fir a week lol or if you drink more than 3 glasses of wine one evening your hangover lasts 2 days now...

When younger I could literally sleep on the ground and have no pain the next day.. and I rarely had a hangover..

Can't eat sweet stuff now days without tummy pain or feeling slightly sick..

So I guess general aches and pains do become pretty everyday as you age

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 03/03/2024 00:06

It is normal amongst my friends in their fifties and sixties. Most are very sporty and knee twinges, back twinges and low level pain from old injuries seems very common.

IloveAslan · 03/03/2024 00:29

thistimelastweek · 02/03/2024 20:38

I get aches and pains.

They come and they go but they never last long.

I'm mid sixties.

I'm the same, and am also the same age. There is nothing which ever sends me to the doctor.

I've had gallstones for around 20 years, but they don't cause too much of an issue, as long as I'm (moderately) sensible around food.

CurlsnSunshinetime4tea · 03/03/2024 00:30

i consider myself very fortunate. past mid 60's and generally zero pain.
the past few weeks (due to exercise) i have a callus on my little right toe that is annoying.

TheTempest · 03/03/2024 00:53

All day every day sadly. I’m 36, I do have a few chronic health problems, Eds cauda equina chiari malformation, several prolapsed discs, hip bursitis, costochronditis, scoliosis and a new problem with my pancreas now. Pain of less than a 5 is a brilliant day for me, generally a 6-7. I found it really interesting when DH told me he doesn’t have any daily pain. I can’t even imagine it!

Sususudio · 03/03/2024 06:05

I appear to be very lucky not having any pain at 52, then. DH is 55 and doesn't have any either. Neither of us are sporty but we walk a lot.

I should appreciate it.
I did have terrible period pains because of fibroids, but I had a hysterectomy recently. Sorted.

WonderingWanda · 03/03/2024 07:42

A few aches, mostly posture related but I wouldn't say I live with pain. When I broke my ankle that was painful all the time for a few weeks and it was incredibly draining. I feel for anyone who does have constant pain.

aurynne · 03/03/2024 07:46

47 and no aches or pains at all. I have been incredibly lucky with my body and health, fingers crossed. I will never take it for granted because I have seen way too many friends who were also healthy and pain-free and that all changed in a day. I'm sorry so many of you live with daily pain.

pensione · 03/03/2024 07:53

No pains but I have other issues that are very mild in the scheme of things:

  • occasional painful foot cramps if I don’t keep hydrated and take magnesium
  • stomach bloating. I start the day with an ok stomach but look 6 months pregnant by late afternoon
susiedaisy1912 · 03/03/2024 07:56

Yes. Chronic Migraines for over 20 years. And now I'm in my fifties I have general aches and pains everywhere despite taking HRT.

ScarlettSunset · 03/03/2024 07:59

I do get pain everyday. I assumed most people do too. Some days there's less pain than others.
These days I have diagnosed conditions and it's to be expected, but if I'm honest, I don't think I can remember NOT having pain(s) of one sort of another. Even as a child.
It's generally at a level where I just put up with it. If I tried to treat it every time, I'd be living on painkillers.

Wonderwall23 · 03/03/2024 08:05

No I don't think it's normal for the average healthy person to feel pain all the time. I'd be incredibly suprised if more than a handful of people I mix with feel pain every day.

I really feel for people having to deal with pain through health conditions...it must be incredibly hard to live life in this way. But I don't think this should skew your view, OP. If you've got recent pain that's come on, don't just accept it as 'the way it is' and just because others unfortunately have to live with this, doesn't mean you have to.

notanothernana · 03/03/2024 08:28

I'm 56, no on-going pain.
