Was reading that everyone's got aches and pains of some sort.
Nobody is without anything wrong.
Do you agree? X

Been in cyclical pain since age 14 - severe endometriosis, adenomyosis - shooting pains due to endo on the diaphragm

Migraines / headaches from age 6 :(

NorthernLights5 · 02/03/2024 21:22

I'm in pain much of the time and have been since being very young due to endometriosis. It's horror.

MissHoollie · 02/03/2024 21:29

I've always thought this.
No diagnosis but yea always had daily stomach discomfort .
Aches and pains

I get aches and pains.

They come and they go but they never last long.

I'm mid sixties.

Early 60s and same as this.

I find exercise helps a lot to prevent aches and pains. Though I don't do enough!

ManchesterLu · 02/03/2024 21:31

I don't have physical pain, but I am always tired, and would love to live life for a day in the body of someone who's fit and not tired, just to see what it's like!

myhouseyourhouse · 02/03/2024 21:54

Pain daily. In shoulders, knee, ankle. Also often back, hips, hands.

I'm really surprised that some people have no pain at all,

DarkDarkNight · 02/03/2024 21:56

Nothing permanent. I have had a bad back back for a while that has resolved itself, and I get the occasional bout of sciatica.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 02/03/2024 21:57

I noticed that once I was through the menopause small aches and pains seemed to multiply. If you pull a muscle, for example, it takes a few days to stop hurting, rather than being ok the next day.

Oh tired is a different story.
Aches and pains come and go but I've been tired since 2002.

I have fibromyalgia so daily chronic pain, have to take opioids just to get out of bed and have a life. At the moment lying in bed, the soles of my feet are hurting, my knees, hips and ribs. Always seem to have a headache too. My sleep is all over the place so I don’t think that helps.

Dymaxion · 02/03/2024 22:14

Yes, but its manageable with medication, like naproxen or ibuprofen, which I take once in a blue moon if its really bad and I am properly hobbling about. I don't mind the pain and would rather not mask it as it reminds me that I need to lose a lot of weight.

Littlecaf · 02/03/2024 22:17

Since turning 40 (I’m 43) I’ve been diagnosed with two long term health conditions. Both are manageable and are usually in the “background” of my life. I’ve had to make small lifestyle changes (weight, exercise, mental health plus medication) but at least I can generally live a normal life. I have minor flare ups every few months which need rest /a day off work but it’s manageable. If either were ever to progress substantially then life would be difficult which makes me worry. Especially with the NHS the way it is I’d probably be waiting years for a corrective operation and to see a specialist.

I've had that for a while, been in contact with GP so hoping to get that sorted soon

AndThatWasNY · 02/03/2024 22:20

Im a HCP one of my daily questions to patients is about pain. Obviously lots have come for pain but many have absolutely no pain. At first I found it amazing as I think I have been in pain since I was about 10 every single day due to a condition I have. In fact it led me to getting diagnosed as I realised it wasn't normal!

fancyfrogs · 02/03/2024 22:22

No, I don't have any

PawsisShady · 02/03/2024 22:24

Yes
Intermittent back pain - cauda equina
Endometriosis pain
Then bone pain, headache and flu symptoms (shiver/fever/nausea) from a weekly injection which lasts about 24hrs

lambhotpot · 02/03/2024 22:45

I suffer awful migraines 6=7 a month.
Some with vision loss /vertigo/ speech problems cant think the list goes on.
And the migraines without head pain but feels like you been hit with a truck on the side of your face.
And spend days trying to recover.

SheepAndSword · 02/03/2024 22:48

@MissHoollie actually do you take any painkillers for that? I was uncertain what to buy

Ultravox · 02/03/2024 22:56

I do. I’m nearly 50 & generally very healthy and not overweight. I have stiff ankles & sore feet due to fallen arches & lower back & hip pain from an old injury from a fall. It is worse first thing in the morning & eases with stretching. I do lots of yoga and Pilates to help and also take loads of ibuprofen. It’s not so bad. My mother is 75 & has chronic rheumatoid arthritis. Now that is constant pain!

Blueskies2023 · 02/03/2024 22:57

I’m nearly 37, I have pretty frequent back pain (low/mid) and have done for probably a decade. Only time it improves is when I’ve been pregnant. I’ve started exercising more (CrossFit) and the pain has improved, I’m taking less paracetamol but still 1-3 times a week I take it

RhinestoneCowgirl · 02/03/2024 23:01

I'm 46, I wouldn't describe it as pain, I don't take painkillers, more discomfort. It's in my lower back, hips and groin. Plus very tight shoulders. It's been a very stressful year and I think I'm just carrying it in my body.

I used to do yoga a lot which helped but have got out of the habit.

ScierraDoll · 02/03/2024 23:07

Yep
Rheumatoid arthritis its a twat

SwordToFlamethrower · 02/03/2024 23:07

I've injured my right wrist, and it's a bit jarring at times. I also work out 4 days a week, so my muscles are always aching!

I'm nearly 47

TeenLifeMum · 02/03/2024 23:11

I’d happily stay in bed every day but instead I work full time, am doing a masters and have 3dc. There’s certain aches and pains you just ignore. I think I assumed it’s normal but maybe others call in sick? I had a severe inner ear thing that made me so sick and dizzy I had to crawl to the toilet in September but I took 2 days off work then as soon as I could cope with sitting still (fine if I didn’t move my head) I was back working from home (couldn’t safely drive). I still get dizzy if I lay on my right side. It’s annoying but I try to ignore it so it doesn’t stop me living.

TeenLifeMum · 02/03/2024 23:13

@AndThatWasNY but if you asked me I’d only mention new or acute pain rather than “Usual” aches.
