Was reading that everyone's got aches and pains of some sort.
Nobody is without anything wrong.
Do you agree? X

Reading this makes me realise I should probably push for more investigations! I’m 40, diagnosed with one chronic illness that is linked to AI diseases. I hurt constantly, between back, knees, hips and stomach. I’m pretty much always in some sort of pain.

thistimelastweek · 02/03/2024 20:38

I get aches and pains.

They come and they go but they never last long.

I'm mid sixties.

CraftyTaupeOtter · 02/03/2024 20:41

I get aches and pains that go up and down. Some days are worse than others. I'm hypermobile though and in very good health otherwise. It's always been this way.

Whiskerson · 02/03/2024 20:43

No. I don't think that should be expected, certainly if you're still reasonably young and in shape. I'd see my doctor if I had a recurrent pain, I wouldn't consider that a normal thing to put up with. I also can't think of anyone I know who mentions "aches and pains" other than older people with chronic conditions and/or general wear and tear.

Ilovemyshed · 02/03/2024 20:44

Generally OK, apart from a stiff neck and shoulders, achy arm and dodgy knee. Quite a lot of oohs and ahhs when I get up. 54

bradpittsbathwater · 02/03/2024 20:45

No. Nearly 40. I had knee pain when I was fatter but no issues now.

OddBoots · 02/03/2024 20:48

I do, I have tethered spinal cord syndrome caused by a neural tube defect so I have neuropathic pain in my legs and feet and various discomforts that come from the bowel and bladder issues it causes.

Sconeswithnutella · 02/03/2024 20:50

I’m 44 and have had arthritis and slipped discs for the last ten years or so. I’m also perimenopausal. I’m in pain most of the time.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/03/2024 20:52

I do, I call it the creeping body rot because something new hurts every day.
I have Tietze syndrome which means my ribs /breastbone hurts a bit almost all the time.
I have aching ankles and feet almost all the time from running/being perimenopausal
And I usually have some sort of post workout twinge/aches from either a run or workout the day before.

Zanatdy · 02/03/2024 20:53

I’ve been in daily pain for 13yrs since gallstones damaged my pancreatic duct which then damaged my pancreas (now only have half remaining). On some strong pain meds but have been reducing them later as docs recoil in horror when they see the dose. But I’m on a lot less than I was pre surgery

Greenshrub · 02/03/2024 20:53

I am only fairly young but unfortunately have chronic pain due to a vascular compression syndrome.

I also have loads of TMJ pain from stress and grinding.

The upside is, when I’m not in pain I feel great & very appreciative :)

Tootsey11 · 02/03/2024 20:56

Daily pain and have had for as long as I can remember. I am 48.

Endometriosis
Arthritis in shoulder, hands and neck.
IBS
Raynauds.
Knee bursitis.
Fibro.
Sciatica.

Tootsey11 · 02/03/2024 20:58

And 4 ruptured discs, 2 in neck, 2 in back.

GreigeO · 02/03/2024 20:58

I'm 53. I have a bit of an ongoing hamstring injury, but only really notice it when doing yoga, so no, I disagree.

bringmorewashing · 02/03/2024 21:02

No, I don't think it's normal for most people to experience regular pain. The small number of people I know who suffer from this have serious health conditions and/or are over 60 and in poor health.

Sapphire387 · 02/03/2024 21:03

I'm 38; DH 43. Neither of us has chronic ongoing daily pain, but he definitely feels a bit creaky when getting up in the morning. I attribute it to him being very tall (stoops quite a bit) and also working in retail for years... all that standing doesn't do the joints any favours.

CatOnTheLap · 02/03/2024 21:03

I’m 51 and have been in pain every day for over 20 years.

Dontsayyouloveme · 02/03/2024 21:04

Chronic aches and pains as have scoliosis. I can’t imagine what it’s like having no niggles whatsoever, 🫤

Nsky62 · 02/03/2024 21:04

61 Parkinson’s, aches normal now, fall last June that damaged knee ( no evidence), 7 years in.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 02/03/2024 21:05

I do. (See my username). But then I have Fibro so I’m probably not the best person to ask.

My fibro’s current pain of choice is all over ‘flu like’ nagging. It’s like toothache but everywhere.

ShowOfHands · 02/03/2024 21:08

I'm 43 and never experience pain of any description.

I was v shocked when DH told me years ago that he's always in pain. We then had DC who clearly had EDS and it became clear that DH had passed it on to them. He also has arthritis and scoliosis. He groans every time he moves.

Waffle19 · 02/03/2024 21:09

I often have back / neck / shoulder pain. Currently knee pain too. Only 35 so I’m screwed. But hoping it improves once I stop breastfeeding / lugging small children around. Losing weight would also help me too I think

RuthW · 02/03/2024 21:10

56 and pain every day.

Not bad pain and not all at the same time.

Rarely bad enough for painkillers but at least one joint every day.

Waffle19 · 02/03/2024 21:14

Gosh this makes me think I should see a doctor. I did once see a chiro about my back pain and it has improved to the point where it is barely noticeable but does come back after a lot of sitting and / or wearing inappropriate shoes. My knee pain I’ve had since second pregnancy so just figure it will get better with time and weight loss (and that’s not daily any more to be fair). My shoulders and neck always ache when I wake up so think I’m sleeping awkwardly. I have had pain on and off in my left shoulder for about 15 years now. I always just figured going to the GP is a waste of time and aches and pains are part of getting older, but this thread has made me re think that. Don’t really know where to start though!

Redglitter · 02/03/2024 21:14

I'd love a day, just one day, with no pain
