Anyone else get really cheesed off when they are reading a thread and it just disappears for no apparent reason or for “investigation behind the scenes”. As far as I know there is no investigation because these threads never reappear, I lose count of the number of times I am half way through a reply or just reading a thread and it vanishes.

I know people get annoyed when others don’t read the full thread, but it doesn’t really encourage this!!! I was really interested in the lady and her daughter with the gusto boxes this morning- it struck quite close to home for me as a childless daughter in a similar boat…

Of course there may be made up threads etc but I think sometimes people report some threads unnecessarily and unfairly which get taken down ‘to look behind the scenes’ and never reinstated.

KimberleyClark · 22/02/2024 10:37

It is irritating it “we’re taking this down while we take a look behind the scenes” IS an explanation.

Crikeyalmighty · 22/02/2024 10:41

I still can't get over why people would 'want' to post troll posts- the only post they should be posting is 'I need psychiatric help'

Yerroblemom1923 · 22/02/2024 10:46

It's tiresome and frustrating when all the remotely interesting threads get deleted. I'm not convinced any "looking behind the scenes" goes on as these threads just disappear! It's just lazy. Even the "nightwatch" is a joke - a tool to ensure MN doesn't have to employ night staff and rely on readers!
Come on Mumsnet sort yourselves out.

Because they are attention-seekers and (some) MNetters fall for it every time.

Drives me up the wall, I don’t really care if it might be a reverse or a few details changed. The delete the post but then dozens of quite well thought out responses vanish too. 😡

I was flamed for doing a reverse AIBU this morning. I didn’t realise it was bad mumsnet etiquette. My account has been suspended and the post deleted. But I haven’t even had so much of a note to say why or to prove I’m honest, I’d had that account for a couple of years. I Didn’t get to show my family the replies which is why I did it!!!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/02/2024 12:58

Reverses do my head in. I think posters should be suspended for them, but not banned.

Why would they? It’s not in Site Stuff.
