Sorry if this is on the wrong thread but i'm not sure where to put it

Nearly 2yrs ago i had surgery to remove a sarcoma (no treatment afterwards as not needed). My 6 month scan was clear and i had another scan 4wks ago to check if it had come back. The hospital have rang today and told me they had booked me in next Friday to see a member of the surgery team. I am abaolutely terrified and beside myself with worry. I am a single parent to a very young child who has no contact with dad due to domestic abuse. I barely have any family/friend support. If the cancer is back i really don't know what i will do. I feel physically ill

It’s great that everyone is being brilliant. I bet people would be really pleased if you could tell them what you need.

I don’t know that anyone has solved the Eyelash Problem, sadly. You could ask your nurses. Xx

Nothing useful to add but just here in solidarity x

The lady on the phone said she couldn't tell me anything and i had to wait. The appointment is next Friday, so a full week away yet and i'm already beside myself. I just feel really sad its taken them 4wks to look at my scan pictures and then i have another week to wait to be told whats what

Deleting as I was responding to the original post, not noticing the date.

Hi @Lostmymind11 I've been following your updates and I wanted to offer a handhold.

I remember well the knot in my stomach as fistfuls of hair came out. Strangely once I shaved it I felt better. I thought well that's done now. My partner looked so nervous when I faced him, he smiled at me and said hey beautiful, I love those eyes.

This will pass. Keep going.

CrunchyCarrot · 20/09/2024 20:01

You are doing so incredibly well with all this OP, it can't be easy at all.

Lostmymind11 · 24/09/2024 13:09

So i have my 2nd lot of chemo yesterday and so far i feel fine again. Then i braved the shave last night. My friend came round to whip my hair off and we made it into a funny event which is exactly what i wanted and needed

That’s as good as it gets, OP. I am really admiring you right now. And very happy that you are feeling fine, or at least okay. As always, very best wishes Xx

TealPoet · 24/09/2024 13:30

I’m so glad you and your friend did that and made it a positive-feeling thing - because it is! It’s another step in your journey to recovery; a milestone in your progress. It’s a sign of how strong you are. Big hugs and keep going!

MsRosley · 25/09/2024 22:51

Sending you love and support x

DyslexicPoster · 26/09/2024 08:03

Glad the shave felt positive. Its done now and another thing you don't have to worry about. Just in time for the temperature to drop! I will do a sun dance for you! I bet you look amazing.

STST · 24/10/2024 08:40

How’re you doing @Lostmymind11? Thinking of you x

Lostmymind11 · 15/12/2024 21:44

Hi everyone, i know i went AWOL but i will give an update for anyone that may be interested in how things have been.

So i did 4 cycles of chemo which finished around 6wks ago now. I had a scan at the beginning of Dec to see if chemo had worked. I am honestly so shocked by the results i can't believe i'm even writing this but i am currently NED. The best christmas present i could ever ask for
