Just been watching the news about Biden's memory. He really needs to step down IMHO.

Having watched Biden for eight years when he was Obama’s VP, I think it’s painfully obvious that he’s had a significant cognitive decline in recent years. The Democrats have done themselves no favors by denying it, and Biden did the party no favors by picking Kamala Harris as VP. When she was still running for the Democratic presidential nomination, she was unpopular among voters and dropped out before the New Hampshire primary. If Harris takes over for Biden, I think very few people will be happy and excited about it.

Well it's their mess to sort out. Plenty of folk behind the scenes are running things I suspect.

When the DOJ said he's too senile to stand trial you have to take note of that if you're capable of critical thinking.

And there ya go, spreading disinfo.

The Special Prosecutor DID NOT SAY he was "too senile", ever, even ONCE, in his biased report.

Jesus FUCK, people, take 10 fucking minutes to read the thing. The Republican hack fronted a bit about "deliberate" obstruction, then BURIED the fact the "NOTHING SUPPORTED THAT CONCLUSION", deep in the report.

I despair.

Soooo many fuck-simple of y'all.

Pallisers · 10/02/2024 00:18

I'm a US citizen. I sincerely wish that we had a different choice than Biden/Trump. But I know that if I have to chose between

Old evil guy who doesn't care for the constitution - and occasionally does things like mix up Nancy Pelosi and Nikki Haley and more

or

Old good guy who has dedicated his life to the democratic principles of the US constitution (and probably has actually read the constitution unlike Trump) - and occasionally does things like mix up presidents

yeah then I'll pick the good guy who believes in the Constitution of the USA. Wish there was another slate though.

Oh and despite the talk, Biden's presidency has been hugely successful in terms of economics. I agree he is too old to be running the country, but he and his administration are certainly getting things done.

And also, that special counsel who wrote the report is a republican. Do we really think his comments were politically neutral? Or designed to stir up exactly the storm they did. he couldn't say that Biden had done anything wrong so instead he put in the "forgetful, elderly" stuff. Trump is 3 years younger than Biden. A spring chicken.

So both are Germanic in origin, and have evolved, distinctly, with influences from both invaders, and native peoples.

So, "bastardized". Your point?

Rubbish.

English men and boys came to America in 1607. The language spread from there and you lot keep changing it for the worse. 'Y'all' is a lazy way of saying 'you all'. It's bastardised modern English from England. Do you see what I mean now?

Y'all need better news sources, AND better critical thinking.

He is 81. Even without specific concerns about his health now, he is too old to be give a 4 year employment contract.

For that matter so is Trump.

You've just made my point beautifully. Thank you.

Hmm, given the choice between two geriatrics I'd go for the one who wasn't an anti-demicratic sex offender bent on destroying the climate and giving Putin free rein versus the one who muddles words sometimes.

But don't the American people deserve better than these two choices?

And why do they only have these two choices?

Merrymouse · 10/02/2024 00:32

I was shocked by Trump, and very invested in the 2020 election. Now I just think they’ve made their bed so now they will have to lie in it, and I hope the rest of the world escapes unscathed.

Oh, was just about to warn you the pro Biden contingent would soon be awake and here to cheer lead, but I see they’ve arrived. LMAO, as they say….

LMAO. As who says?

Surely emojis are what people use nowadays

Y'all are already FAR behind, with pandemic response and Brexit... but, sure, lets see how that plays out. :)

What does 'Y'all' mean?

HRTQueen · 10/02/2024 01:13

I heard Biden talk a few days ago he was so confused it was painful to listen to, I felt so sorry for him. A man who has been a great politician. I happened to have the news on yesterday when it reported his live press conference he sounded completely different then suddenly you can tell he is getting confused again why was Mexico being mentioned. Yes the journalists were shouting over each other but this so what all leaders have to deal with

Trump has also slowed down and at times has seemed confused but he isn’t held up in such high regard he is a personality not a politician his supporters won’t care Bidens will

how on earth is Biden going to manage the campaigning when it really gets underway it is absolutely relentless

what fools the senior democrats have been it was no secret that Trump would run again or that he has a huge amount of support

Goldenbear · 10/02/2024 01:16

marshmallowburn · 10/02/2024 01:22

Marcipex · 09/02/2024 22:29

I think it’s obvious that he is past his best, unfortunately.

All those millions of Americans, and Trump and Biden are the only viable candidates?

This is what I can never understand. I mean 2 Bush's. Almost 2 Clintons. Now 2 old farts - one can't remember what day it is and one who is a paranoid lunatic. Where the hell is everyone else?

caringcarer · 10/02/2024 01:22

maudelovesharold · 09/02/2024 22:23

Biden or Trump - what a choice…
Almost makes you think we’re lucky to have Sunak and Starmer!

I just can't understand why Americans want geriatric presidents.

PSA: Brits saying "y'all" makes you look like absolute TWATS.

Which is correctly pronounced as "TWAHTS", by people who say "y'all".

It's also "peCAHHN pie", not PEE-can", bless your hearts. :)

:)

You ok, hun?

TempestTost · 10/02/2024 01:34

As far as why the Democrats have ended up with Biden who is so over the hill - maybe it's because he is the kind of candidate who gets the job because everyone knows him, he's been around forever, and there is no worry that he will do anything unexpected or untoward.

They don't really seem to love unknown quantities. Obama got in despite being a relative outsider, because of his personal qualities and to some extent symbolic qualities. Not everyone in the party elite was very happy about it. With Clinton and Biden they had people who would always do what was expected of them and were fully beholden to the party elite.

Someone like that is unlikely to be very young. Clinton was somewhat younger of course, but not really young either.

steff13 · 10/02/2024 01:46

FrannieSaid · 09/02/2024 23:32

It's true, though.

Co-opting "y'all" is just so... try hard., unless you were born in the American south. We don't go around saying Briticisms, LMAO.

To be fair to them, you used "enquire" in a prior post, when "inquire" is considered more correct in American English. So you did use a "Briticism."

It's pronounced PEE-cun.

It's never Puh'KAAHN in a million years.

Oh, and Americans can't say "mirror" properly either. "Meeer". Nope. 😂

Where are they??

They're either shooting at each other, taking fentanyl, or working for 14 hours a day to pay their rent and healthcare.

There are a lot of seriously wealthy people in the US. Harvard churns out lawyers by the cartload. Surely one of them could have a crack.
