Just been watching the news about Biden's memory. He really needs to step down IMHO.

He was elected by millions of people and has done a perfectly good job...

I do think his second aim should have been to nurse the next Democratic candidate (the first being to stabilise and reassure the country after the insanity of the attempt to overthrow the election). Unfortunately he's doing a Ruth Bader Ginsburg. He's still a better option than the orange one.

I agree with this.

The report prompting the current discussion was written by Trump appointee Robert Hur. His task was to decide whether there was scope to bring criminal charges against President Biden in the matter of classified documents found on his private property.

Mr Hur concluded that bringing charges would be inappropriate. Nowhere in his mandate was there scope for his personal opinion on the matter of the President’s memory or health and he has no known medical qualifications.

Between Biden and Orange I have a strong opinion as to who is in better health, physically and mentally. I agree it is shame that this is the choice.

Biden may no longer be fit to be president. Trump has never been fit to be president.

As a Brit in the USA this is where I am.

Biden wouldn't be my first choice but Trump is a world of worse.

DancefloorAcrobatics · 09/02/2024 23:09

I agree, he had aged / deteriorated over the last couple of months.

But it's all fake news! It's true, just ask China!

Please cite some actual reporting about your erroneous take on Kamala Harris.

Yes, because imho I have watched Kamal Harris purposely sidelined, likely due to her sex and race. She is a very intelligent, experienced and capable professional.

TIME magazine is now owned by Salesforce, and has abandoned all pretext of impartial reporting.

Netanyahu is despicable, but all the new-to-politics-and-ignorant-of-geopolitics-Hamassholes are WORSE.

This will come to nothing.

What is not impartial about reporting on the existence of a real court case really filed in a real federal court?! It’s not like Time has expressed an opinion or made allegations.

She's been ALL OVER the US supporting reproductive rights, AND has traveled to many other countries in support of the Administration's policies. Do you legitimately NOT see any of that in the news?

The WH twitter account promotes her constantly, as does the WH you tube channel. The MSN in the US chooses to ignore her - but she's extremely involved - as opposed to that ghost Mike Pence.

Kendodd · 09/02/2024 23:20

I can't watch him on TV for fear he's going to drop dead any minute. The only thing worse I can think of it President Trump.

PSA: Brits saying "y'all" makes you look like absolute TWATS.

Which is correctly pronounced as "TWAHTS", by people who say "y'all".

It's also "peCAHHN pie", not PEE-can", bless your hearts. :)

:)

Are you ok? You seem stressed

It's true, though.

Co-opting "y'all" is just so... try hard., unless you were born in the American south. We don't go around saying Briticisms, LMAO.

I’d vote for a cabbage before I’d vote for Trump.

um. both brexit and "pandemic response" happened nearly 4 years ago so if anyone's "behind" 😂 what's life like in 2020? tip from the future, maybe start stockpiling toilet roll.....

If it was a one off slip of the tongue nobody would care, it's daily huge errors.
The report says he couldn't say when his own son died, not even to within a few years. He's now saying he didn't answer because he thought it was none of their business, well surely you'd say that then?

To be fair, Brexit will affect us negatively for many years to come, so they had a point about that. It's a pity the people who voted for it didn't seem to understand that...

British people counting the times they've said 'pecan' in the last decade...................

Specifically in reference to 'pie'...................

People who care how twat is pronounced by anyone, let alone those abroad................

Calm down, love. There are real issues.

It’s typical sidelining of women to have them only work on women’s’ issues- reproductive rights isn’t that a job for the Surgeon General?! It’s an insult to her position as VP.

The times she has gone abroad it’s been to speak on “oh think of the Palestinian women and children, we need more humanitarian aid in Gaza.” She’s had less say than Blinken and she far out ranks him.

You've just bastardised it thas'aaall

I think it’s obvious that he is past his best, unfortunately.

All those millions of Americans, and Trump and Biden are the only viable candidates?

Surely in a country the size of the US they can find someone other than one of these two?

yeah but it's (sadly) happened, it doesn't make any sense to say it's 'behind' Saying it will have ongoing repercussions (as will Covid, as will Boris Johnson's/Trump's time in office, etc.) is a completely different thing

MorrisZapp · 09/02/2024 23:47

I ready know the peCAHN pie thing from When Harry Met Sally.

I still say PEEcan though, because it sounds right.

So both are Germanic in origin, and have evolved, distinctly, with influences from both invaders, and native peoples.

So, "bastardized". Your point?

MorrisZapp · 10/02/2024 00:01

Pecan pie is so 80s. I remember the excitement when the local deli in Glasgow started doing Mississippi Mud Pie. Oooh the glamour.

justasking111 · 10/02/2024 00:04

Well it's their mess to sort out. Plenty of folk behind the scenes are running things I suspect.

When the DOJ said he's too senile to stand trial you have to take note of that if you're capable of critical thinking.
