The election is less than a year away. You don't switch horses 3 years into a 4 year term; there's zero time for fundraising, and there's no one else even close running. Even Manchin (that paid-for WV bastard) came out today and and said he wouldn't run as an Independent.

Anyone is better than Trump - but I think voting for Biden in such obvious poor health means looking at team round him who will clearly be making decisions and thinking about possibility of Kamala Harris presidency rather than focus on Biden.

If Nikki Haley hangs in there and somehow gets the nomination over Trump I think Biden campaign will have real problems.

Politian's themselves tend to blame harassment and social media - recent one was a campaign outside a politicians home because they disagree with his views - but a female politician has talked in house of commons about SS investigation because a disgruntled person put in a groundless complaint but it will always sit in a file.

The right to criticize politician views need to be protected by many don't seem able to distinguish between that and other aspect's of their lives these days.

I personally think there are too many career politicians who do PPE at oxbridge then get research jobs then stand - ie no real life experience but Starmer and Sunak had previous careers and both have had people try and use it against them politically and I don't think either is a great politician or haven't shown themselves to be do far.

Her approval ratings are awful overall, though unsurprisingly better among people of colour, so it's understandable that they don't push her forward very much now

Even at the start many - democrats included - felt her appontment was tokenism, as a foil to Biden's elderly male whiteness, but it also bears saying she's been landed with some pretty difficult briefs
