Taylor Swift tickets

I realise this will be frowned upon by a lot of people but hear me out. I'm lucky enough to have been able to buy 4 very decent tickets to see Taylor Swift in August this year in London. I'm a big fan, the plan was to go with family, although the 'kids' are grown they enjoy her music and are happy to come along for the experience more than being fans.

The dilemma I have is that tickets are so rare and the tour seems to be such a phenomenon that people are willing to pay an extortionate amount for them. As a family that are struggling with cost of living and have a bit of debt, I find myself in the position on considering whether to advertise these tickets for way above what I paid for them (£190 a ticket). I have seen them advertised for as much as over £2k a ticket, and I find myself thinking if there is a parent out there that has the funds/means and motivation to want to pay £8k for these tickets, would I be an idiot for not selling them?

Yanbu. You must of gone to a lot of effort to secure them in the first place, do what you want with them! How is it a dickhead move? No one is forced to pay the price op sells them for. It's their choice 😂 I'm sure someone would be happy to pay it who can't get their hands on a ticket. Would be very stupid to sell them for what you paid given the profit you could make on them. You don't owe anyone anything why should you sell it at the price you bought them? It's not like it's an essential item that's gone scarce that people will be suffering without ffs 😂

Hopefully when Labour get in we get the new policy which stops you being able to sell tickets at a cap of 10% more than what you paid for them.

scalping is ruinous to the live event industry.

When people resell at a higher value the genuine fans who cannot afford high priced tickets miss out on the opportunity of going. It is pricing them out. I'm a big fan and have been desperate for a ticket. I've been lucky enough that someone has resold theirs at face value. I couldn't afford what the ticket touts increased the prices too and it was so frustrating. I also didn't want to give loads of money to selfish people.

Do you know what, if people (grown adults) are stupid enough to throw this sort of money about for a concert then you go for it! Good for you. People are being so stupid about this...it's the Prime water bottle fiasco but x100! The people paying hundreds of pounds for their kids to go are fuelling it the worst. Manage kids expectations and tell them that you will try and get tickets but not to get their hopes up and if you can't get any then they will get over it. Kids move on quick! When the young kids wanting these tickets are grown ups they won't be resentful about the time that they didn't get some concert tickets...it's utter stupidity.
