To not vote Labour because of their abhorrent views on the female sex?

Starmer cannot represent women, he can’t even define us. Questioning a trans person is a hate crime, but misogyny is not. Sorry Labour, you’ve lost my vote. Have they lost anyone else’s??

‘On trans ideology, the vast majority of voters, and certainly a majority of traditional Labour voters from working class backgrounds, tend to cast a sceptical eye on the tenets of an ideological movement that asserts that biological men must be accepted as women – and be offered similar rights and access to women’s spaces and sports as women – simply by asserting their new status’

Transgender ideology has created the biggest medical scandal of our generation

Vulnerable young people who transitioned before they were ready are paying a high price for this disastrous project

I've voted labour before. Not this time though.

She told them they weren't welcome, but the Australian Police just let them through. I don't think she's got the resources to turf them out.

I've also voted Labour before (along with other parties). I am disappointed by the stance taken by all of our major parties on this issue. I feel politically homeless and do not know who I will vote for. This thread shows there are a lot of floating voters and a strong stance by a party could hoover up a lot of votes.

14 years but they know what a woman is apparently

A report into children's health said the number of children living in extreme poverty is going up, 1/5 of children are overweight or obese by 5 year old, 1 in 4 affected by tooth decay... a general picture of decline

Vote Tory then ? You know you want to really.

EnterFunnyNameHere · 06/02/2024 08:57

I will be voting for the "least worst" option based on policies and mandates at the time of the election (which will almost certainly not be tory!).

I do think though if you can't bring yourself to vote for anyone, please go and "officially" spoil your ballot. Simply not engaging just means it looks like people don't care either way. If turnout was really high, but reported spoiled ballots were very significant, that's a demonstrable sign that the parties are not aligning with voters needs. It won't make any difference in the short term, but in the mid/long term might pave the way for change.

Better than NHS Wales under Labour, it turns out.

LWSnow · 06/02/2024 09:36

She probably argued with a few TRAs and saw the sunlight. Same as some of these posters who think anyone who voted to support women's rights, the rights of over 50% of the population is acting like a five year old.
also if you spoil your vote no one cares

Ha! The old line "in Labour run Wales..."

Like the English NHS, the Welsh NHS is under huge pressure due to underfunding from Westminster. But it is still functioning. We are not all dying in the streets here, despite what the Tories tell you.

Voting for the conservatives is the opposite of voting for women's rights.

AdamRyan · 06/02/2024 10:26

Also can I just remind people that women died so we can vote? The least we can do to honour them is actually turn out and mark an X next to our preferred candidate.

(I'm going to get told off for "scolding" by the 🤖 now, I can feel it in my water)

lifeturnsonadime · 06/02/2024 10:27

OP, you're being very silly. As are all the 'gender critical' posters who start these threads and drum up poorly researched hysteria day after day here, some seemingly doing nothing else but posting on these topics or lurking in some TRA forum to get themselves upset

Oh yes all us silly, hysterical women getting our knickers in a twist over women's rights!

Could you BE any more sexist.

For all those saying it has happened under the Tories can I just point out, in case you are unaware, that the acts of Parliament that have enabled men to be in women's prisons and all of the rest of the erosion of women's rights were introduced by the LAST LABOUR government. Labour introduced the GRC which allows some men to be legal women, and they introduced the Equality Act which made Gender Reassignment a protected characteristic.

Labour can see the dreadful harms that the Laws that they introduced have caused women and children and DON'T CARE.

It is not silly or hysterical of women to hold the LABOUR PARTY to account on this.

Isn't it a shame that the opposition won't change it's views on this to ensure they oust the Tories. That's how little of a shit they give about us silly hysterical woman. They hope we'll just shut the fuck up and vote for them anyway. NO THANK YOU!

AdamRyan · 06/02/2024 10:30

I fing it a bigger shame that THE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT OF THE COUNTRY FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS have no firm plan to change the law because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT WOMEN AND GIRLS, they just want to give Labour the hair dryer treatment. SHAME ON THEM!!

THAT WAS FUN ACTUALLY, thanks for encouraging shouting dime!

And the Tories have had 14 years to reverse all that if they wished. I guess the reason they haven't is because most people don't have an irrational hatred of trans people. And I'll remind you-the Tories will attack anyone if they think it will win them votes.

Completely agree, can only say WTF if you think the Tories are a good thing for women's rights!

Oh yes all us silly, hysterical women getting our knickers in a twist over women's rights! No, you're silly in thinking that the Conservatives prioritise women's rights. Or that Labour don't. Labour are about tolerance and equality across the board, and women's rights are about more than this very narrow focus on a specific issue that doesn't affect most women, and that Labour have gone on record to say they have reconsidered their position and support single sex exemptions. Let's remind ourselves again what they have actually said:

We are proud of the Equality Act and will oppose any Conservative attempt to undermine it. We will protect and uphold it in government, including both its protected characteristics and its provision for single-sex exemptions. We need to recognise that sex and gender are different – as the Equality Act does. We will make sure that nothing in our modernised gender recognition process would override the single-sex exemptions in the Equality Act. Put simply, this means that there will always be places where it is reasonable for biological women only to have access. Labour will defend those spaces, providing legal clarity for the providers of single-sex services.

Where have I said anything about the Conservative Party in my post?

Stop making things up.

Just because the conservative party haven't treated women well doesn't give the Labour Party a carte blanche to effectively erase women's rights wholesale.

Women deserve better from all parties including Labour.
