To not vote Labour because of their abhorrent views on the female sex?

1000 replies

Lion400 · 05/02/2024 18:43

Starmer cannot represent women, he can’t even define us. Questioning a trans person is a hate crime, but misogyny is not. Sorry Labour, you’ve lost my vote. Have they lost anyone else’s??

‘On trans ideology, the vast majority of voters, and certainly a majority of traditional Labour voters from working class backgrounds, tend to cast a sceptical eye on the tenets of an ideological movement that asserts that biological men must be accepted as women – and be offered similar rights and access to women’s spaces and sports as women – simply by asserting their new status’

Transgender ideology has created the biggest medical scandal of our generation

Vulnerable young people who transitioned before they were ready are paying a high price for this disastrous project

I've said this before and will say it again: All this shitshow has happened since 2010, the people in charge have been the conservatives.

We can only vote for the MP in our constituencies, when this long overdue election is finally held, go to the hustings, ask the candidates about where they stand on issues important to you (including this one) and vote for who represents you and your beliefs.

In my area, the current tory MP refuses to respond to letters, has a wait and see attitude towards important decisions whe she does bother to reply- Johnson lying to parliament, wait and see what the Sue Grey report says, what the police report says etc.
She made money from covid via the fast track scheme.
She appears to be lacking in intelligence, courage, principles.

Our labour candidate is a GP. I'm planning to ask them their thoughts on this issue, nd whoever is voted as our next MP will be hearing from.

Until an election is called, and manifestos published, everything is speculation. For me, there is more to womens rights than self ID and I won't allow this issue to cloud my judgement on exactly what this bunch of conservatives (my current mp included) stand for.

Londonrach1 · 05/02/2024 21:39

Totally but leaves me with a problem of who to vote for....can't be labour..Tory is...there's no one else...we need someone else, someone normal..I vote for the downing street cat..

I won't vote Tory either. But I can't vote Labour. That's the problem.

That pretty much sums up my, "No independent, GRRR!! I'll have to write an explanation to fucking Starmer on my fucking ballot paper." attitude.

For the Badenoch fans: she is very silent on the most vital of women's rights. She hasn't said anything publically about the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

How does Roe v Wade pertain to the United Kingdom?

And from The Torygraph of all things. Anyone who believes anything that right wing rag prints about Labour policy is very gullible indeed.

It’s not only one paper that is writing about it though, is it. There are hundreds if not thousands of articles on this issue. I didn’t registerit was that particular paper tbh. I’m more interested in content than labels.

As you are particularly interested in referencing reading materials (quite right too), check this one out. Worth a read of anyone’s time.

I supported trans ideology until I couldn’t anymore

Alicia Hendley bought into gender identity ideology (and went after anyone who challenged her), until she couldn’t ignore the facts any longer.

Labour have a woman problem. It's embarrassing in this day and age.

SinnerBoy · 05/02/2024 21:49

Why should anyone vote for someone who wants to jail anyone who says:

Lady penis? FFS!

Or who wants their child, who thinks that someone who wants their child, who thinks that they are the wrong sex, to talk to a psychiatrist, should have the child removed under the guise of abuse and be jailed?

Are the Tories SPIT doing worse than that on this subject?

I'll happily vote conservative , my local prospective Tory candidate is full on women's rights and gender critical. I asked her on the doorstep about her views on women's rights and she was fantastic. Single sex spaces, sports etc woman = adult human female.

LWSnow · 05/02/2024 21:54

I'm also going to send a donation Kelly J Keens way as she is setting up a women's party and is going to stand against Keir Starmer. She's an independent who deserves a lot of votes. I

And what a role model she is with her harassment of other women and far right links. Your posts say it all about your judgment. Although I suspect you're just a provocateur.

LWSnow · 05/02/2024 22:09

Not a provocateur although I suspect you might be.
KJK speaks up for women and to anyone who will platform her. If the Gaurdian or Pink News or the socialist worker or the BBC wanted to interview her she'd turn up.
The reason why she's going to stand against Keir Starmer is because she wants to be reported I. All the press.

AdamRyan · 05/02/2024 22:13

I doubt she's going to stand against Starmer and if she does I wish her luck. I doubt he's going to be the kind of opponent she's used to, he'll probably agree with her. I'm kinda looking forward to seeing how it goes.

It takes a special kind of logic to try to get a change by standing against the leader of the opposition Confused

What harassment of other women? And Nazis turning up, despite her telling them "No thanks," so that they can have a go at Antifa and the Traniban isn't "Far right links." Nor is her being at debates where a range of people, including some right wingers, but not organised by, or invited by her.

IClaudine · 05/02/2024 22:15

KJK is a nasty piece of work who has jumped on the anti trans bandwagon. Her one true interest is in herself. If you are taken in by her, you are a mug.

Speckledpasta · 05/02/2024 22:16

YABU - you need to balance all of their policies for the greater good. The tories want to make small matters divisive issues so they can cling to power and continue to profit from us whilst running the country into the ground.

Don't support them to do this. Don't be naive. Don't make everyone else suffer for your ideology.

What are her thoughts on the current issue with child poverty?
Or funding for the NHS?
Or tax breaks for the wealthy?
Or funding for social services such as education and policing?
Or international relations?

CaribouCarafe · 05/02/2024 22:19

Gosh, I've been watching KJK ever since she started on twitter and I just don't get the impression she is a nice person at all. Not because of her beliefs regarding trans women, but just her whole approach has been very unempathetic and needlessly antagonistic at points. She also would be a single policy candidate. I just don't see how someone can see her as a preferable candidate to your average Labour MP

IClaudine · 05/02/2024 22:21

Why did KJK have such a change of heart about trans women? Hmm?

I know I'll be slated for this but I think it's such an entitled view to say this one issue stops you from voting to prevent the Tories getting in again. I am absolutely furious about the erosion of women's rights. I think the whole TRA movement is batshit. But I have to put that aside and vote for whoever is most likely to get the Tories out.

Someone upthread said they wouldn't vote but would watch with a glass of wine. Well fucking great for you but there are millions of children in poverty and people dying because they can't get NHS treatment for whom this is not an ideological spectator sport.

100% agree with this

Updownleftandright · 05/02/2024 22:42

Yawn. Yeah the OPs post (and all of the bot-like posts underneath) has convinced me to vote Conservative now. Nice try, but not trying hard enough. You're a shit bot.

Have you considered starting a thread about VAT on private schools? 😂
