Wow. What a shock

Eh no doubt he'll have the best if everything. I feel more sorry for normal people that I do him tbh

What an unpleasant response.

It's not unpleasant. Plenty of people get fobbed off for years with symptoms and end up dying. A woman in her 30s died of lung cancer recently that I know and she has two small children. The king will be able to get the best treatment etc.

I certainly don't wish ill on him and I hope he gets better but the country is in a state with 'ordinary' people no longer able to get essential NHS treatments.

It's not a fair situation.

If prostrate cancer than something like 90% of men his age die with prostrate cancer. Very few die of it.
It's not necessarily a bad prognosis.

User135644 · 05/02/2024 18:47

Don't wish him ill but don't care either. He protected Savile and others.

it is not prostate cancer though

Grantanow · 05/02/2024 18:47

Treatment seems to have started immediately and I hope it is successful as I hope it is for all those similarly suffering.

Comedycook · 05/02/2024 18:47

I'm not much of a royalist at all but I'm shocked at some of these comments...very unpleasant

perhaps it is a mole?
no pictures of him are to be taken

Dollmeup · 05/02/2024 18:48

I'm not really a fan of the royals. But I respect him for going public about his prostate treatment and now announcing a cancer diagnosis. I think it's raising awareness among older men that these things really can affect anyone. Which can only be a good thing.

nothingnothing77 · 05/02/2024 18:48

@Cazpar

I'm sure he will. Not like "us" who have to wait weeks/months

The NHS treats cancer quickly. My dad was diagnosed in late 2021 (so peak COVID when everything was struggling).

He was seen within two weeks and operated on within the month.

It's the trying to get an appointment with GP to get the actual referral to the right place.

the80sweregreat · 05/02/2024 18:48

I do feel that if it was prostate cancer they would have said it was, but I know nothing of course

It's prostate not prostrate and it's not prostate cancer.

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/02/2024 18:03

He has prostate problems, bound to be cancer.

Said on the News the cancer was not related to his prostate problem.

the80sweregreat · 05/02/2024 18:51

Right, so it's cancer of something else but they are not saying what. Which will lead to more speculation etc

BeaRF75 · 05/02/2024 18:51

Of course, I wish him a speedy recovery. The comments on here that begrudge him swift treatment are just vile.
He is our Head of State and I, for one, hope that it's an early diagnosis and that he will make a speedy recovery. He is a good man and we need him to stay around.

No, you are not understanding my post.

At all.

I mean, it’s refreshing that they’re somewhat less imperious and sharing more personal stuff, which like it or not, is of interest to the public.

What I actually said was

I’m not a monarchist by any stretch, but it’s quite a refreshing difference from the old Queen and Philip. We never got any medical info about them.

Edited

Don’t worry - it was perfectly obvious to anyone with the reading comprehension skills of a primary-schooler, what you meant.

reesewithoutaspoon · 05/02/2024 18:51

Surprised they announced it. Unusual for the royal family.
Hope his treatment is successful. Not a royalist but wouldn't wish him ill

justasking111 · 05/02/2024 18:52

I'm a bit choked up to be honest by Harry coming over so quickly. His beef seemed to be with his brother in recent years not his father. My boys are around the same age as William and Harry so shared many milestones.

Akire · 05/02/2024 18:52

Must be a very early something if none of his doctors or checks have picked up anything. He must get more health checks than the rest of us put together. Fair play for being upfront about it, can only be a good thing for someone else thinking it should get something checked or not. Especially men that age.

I imagine William starting feel pressure he dosnt want the big job for many years yet.

As has been said all over the news - and this thread - it’s not prostate cancer.

I agree. The Queen's cause of death was never revealed.

Harsh but kind of true!

Very unlucky to wait half a century for a job and then discover you might not be in it for very long.

I do hope he is ok. I wasn’t bothered when the Queen died but I will be sad if Charles goes before his time so to speak.

As for the comments re Edward…the man has looked ill and drained for the best part of a decade. Maybe that’s just his disposition?

MayThe4th · 05/02/2024 18:54

Amazing the amount of people who apparently don’t care who take the time to come and post on these threads.

Surely if you don’t care then you wouldn’t feel the need to tell the world that.

Don’t think for a second that coming on to a thread to say you don’t care what happens to someone with cancer akes you look like anything but a twat.

FruitBat53 · 05/02/2024 18:54

Harry is due in Canada next week for something to do with the lead up to Invictus, so it's probably timing that he's arriving quickly. I just wish that he hadn't felt the need to release a statement about it - it just doesn't feel that necessary here.
