Brave of him to share with the nation as well. Hope his treatment is a success.

TheBayLady · 05/02/2024 18:06

It is not prostate cancer

I think Edward looks ill too. This is so unsettling

Why?

He has prostate problems, bound to be cancer.

They’ve just said not prostate!

F1ymetothetoon · 05/02/2024 18:07

I hope it's fully treatable and he makes a good recovery. I really like King Charles and think he deserves a decent time to reign after waiting in the wings so long!

All credit to him for revealing this to raise awareness of this condition.

Yes - that's what struck me - I'm no royal fan but apparently his openness about his prostate lead to calls about the issue to GP's increasing. He's patron of several cancer charities so it's good to continue to raise awareness

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/02/2024 18:07

YES I know now thanks for repeating.

I don't own a TV!

Eh no doubt he'll have the best if everything. I feel more sorry for normal people that I do him tbh.

No one's asking you to pick

Don’t do that. Completely unnecessary to even comment that. It’s his father, and whatever has happened no one gets to tell someone how to feel.

What a bizarre comment.

Got a credible source for that?

Buckingham Palace announcement.

TheSnowyOwl · 05/02/2024 18:09

Bladder issues are sometimes picked up during the type of surgery he likely has just had. Regardless, I wish him well.

I can’t see how William can stay completely out of the public eye now.

Eastie77Returns · 05/02/2024 18:09

Waiting for H&M to be blamed. “The stress they put him under must have triggered it..”

mayorofcasterbridge · 05/02/2024 18:09

I know it probably shouldn't be but what a shock!!

I hope they can fully treat it.

Me too. Such drama. I suppose we won't hear about anything else now.

rainbowbee · 05/02/2024 18:10

They said his prostate enlargement is benign. (That happens to older men and is not necessarily sinister, just a nuisance). They found cancer elsewhere when they were treating the prostate. I hope it's been caught very early.

Why does every tiny bit of RF knows have to be twisted into a dig at Harry? It's so tiresome and predictable. You have jo idea what goes on behind closed doors and, regardless of your own opinions, you don't get to decide whether someone's feelings re genuine or not.

Says treated for benign prostate condition but being treated for a form of cancer so I'm assuming not prostate cancer.

Did you intend to be such a dick or was it a happy accident?

AcrossthePond55 · 05/02/2024 18:11

The US news is reporting that during the treatment for benign prostate enlargement an 'area of concern' was discovered. Biopsy revealed a malignancy 'in the early stages'.

IANAD (I am not a Doctor) but I'm assuming that they found something 'in the general vicinity' of the prostate during the procedure (ie the bladder) or on the prostate itself, although I believe they're saying 'not the prostate'. And the fact that he is stepping back from duties during treatment indicates to me (based on my DH's treatment of a 'very treatable cancer' that he's undergoing radiation & chemo, probably a course of 6 weeks or so. Again pure speculation on my part.

Wishing him the very best.
