Wow. What a shock

OP posts:

So if Harry is coming over so soon, does this mean it's a bad prognosis? Hope not Sad

nothingnothing77 · 05/02/2024 18:31

I'm sure he will. Not like "us" who have to wait weeks/months

Do you live in a country without the 2 week pathway?

Boke · 05/02/2024 18:38

LetsgoLego · 05/02/2024 18:37

He still works at 75, probably works harder than a lot of people albeit in a gilded cage.

I was referring to William, as per the post I quoted.

Nah, he needs to work on getting back in the will .... pronto!

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 05/02/2024 18:39

Both my dad and Fil were seen within 2 weeks NHS. Certainly not the months people are claiming about on here. My friend's referral was quicker on the nhs than it was for her trying to get to see a private doctor.

I do like the bad tempered old thing but get in car, be driven to event, say hello lovely to see you all, get in car, be driven home, is not exactly hard work is it? Not like what most of us do on here where we’re worked to the bone.

Dogdilemma2000 · 05/02/2024 18:40

Hope he makes a very swift recovery

The NHS treats cancer quickly. My dad was diagnosed in late 2021 (so peak COVID when everything was struggling).

He was seen within two weeks and operated on within the month.

Really? My treatment has just started - only been waiting 4 months or so whilst in the interim my cancer has spread and is now no longer operable.

I’m not a monarchist by any stretch, but it’s quite a refreshing difference from the old Queen and Philip.

Hold up. Am I understanding your post? Refreshing? It’s refreshing that the new guard’s sick unlike that boring, always healthy, old guard? You need to dilute that schadenfreude.

No, you are not understanding my post.

At all.

I mean, it’s refreshing that they’re somewhat less imperious and sharing more personal stuff, which like it or not, is of interest to the public.

What I actually said was

I’m not a monarchist by any stretch, but it’s quite a refreshing difference from the old Queen and Philip. We never got any medical info about them.

The cynic in me says it’s so Harry can make sure he’s seen by fans as a hero racing to the rescue.

I don't own a TV!

Eh no doubt he'll have the best if everything. I feel more sorry for normal people that I do him tbh.

You own an internet-capable device that can play TV channels.

Supergirl1958 · 05/02/2024 18:42

Some of the comments on this thread are disgusting. It’s not the King’s fault he’s had routine surgery that any male with an enlarged prorate can access, should they wish to if it’s in their treatment plan. It’s also not his fault that the doctors treating him found areas of concern to investigate and found a form of cancer. So he gets the best of treatment and hopefully recovers well and good luck to him.

Bitterness is not worn well by some people on this forum :(

Gosh, I bet you're a joy to be around.

SloaneStreetVandal · 05/02/2024 18:43

It's sad news, though I don't find it 'shocking' given that he's 75 - one in two of us will get cancer during our lifetime, and obviously the risk increases with age.
He's in a privileged position, whereupon he'll get the very best treatment.

AntiDevil · 05/02/2024 18:43

@Whatevershallidowithmylife I'm sorry to hear that, my friend is in a similar position. First went to the Drs last January and out on two week pathway, had to wait until June to be operated on Angry. Then an 8 week wait for Chemo where after 2 sessions they found it had spread and it had to be stopped, only to be restarted after Xmas.

How ridiculous. Are people really that simple in your view? Some of these posts on here are ludicrous.

HansSolo22 · 05/02/2024 18:43

King or not, he's still human. Yeah he's got money and the best medical care available, but he's still got feelings and a family and he's facing something frightening. I have just watched my mum lose her fight to cancer so maybe I'm more sensitive to this but maybe those with the mean comments could just be a bit kinder?

lazyarse123 · 05/02/2024 18:09

Me too. Such drama. I suppose we won't hear about anything else now.

But you're sufficiently motivated to post about it online... right...

Or visiting his dad, who has cancer?

TheSnowyOwl · 05/02/2024 18:44

Nor would it be a six month wait under the NHS for cancer.

Eh? I don't agree with spending millions on a Coronation but how would it be any better if the monarch was 20 and in great health? A waste of public money is a waste of public money.

the80sweregreat · 05/02/2024 18:46

My friend died from cancer only last year and it was horrendous. It is an awful disease and I wouldn't wish it on anyone
The only saving grace for him is he'll receive the best possible treatment, but it's still a lot to deal with.
