Wow. What a shock

OP posts:
SinnerBoy · 05/02/2024 21:34

For goodness sake, he has the same disease the almost almost all men of 65+ have an die with, not of. My uncle had it for over 20 years and died when he was 86.

Viviennemary · 05/02/2024 21:34

A form of cancer? Is that usual medi speak. Or does it mean something like leukaemia.

ismu · 05/02/2024 21:34

@namethisbird I think Harry's visit and the mysterious disclosure are not good omens.
People with all kinds of cancer can do paperwork, they're not bed bound

I feel more sympathy for the ordinary man in the street being diagnosed with cancer than I do him.

You needed to post to let everyone know how heartless you are? Bully for you.

CreativeAccounting · 05/02/2024 21:34

You’re despicable. And obsessed. It’s Harry’s father ffs. Of course he wants to see him.

Is this aimed at anyone particular?

William?

Kate?

Camilla?

How do you know what kind of cancer he has?

FFS

STOP the OT rubbish and talk about what the thread is about - it should be in the Royal forums

I understand our king has prostate cancer. Whilst no cancer of any form is not good news, prostate cancer often is slow evolving and by all accounts the docs were aware of his enlarged prostate - they caught VERY, very early

Wishing our King Charles a speedy recovery!

He does NOT have prostate cancer!!!

Got a credible source for that?

🙄

Bloody hell. Read the press release. They have specifically said it's not prostate cancer.

NerrSnerr · 05/02/2024 21:47

@SinnerBoy oh sorry I think you were joking. This thread has turned my brain to mush.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 05/02/2024 21:48

He supposedly has prostate cancer.

NO HE HASN'T!

The Palace announcement said it's not prostate cancer. It's been stated over and over on the thread that it's not prostate cancer.

You’d find out your parent had an illness, and you wouldn’t bother your arse to visit….? Confused

Just because he’s visiting his father, who’s just had a cancer diagnosis, doesn’t mean Charles is at death’s door.

I mean, I know the Royal Family are different from us - but not THAT different, surely?!

Ah bollocks, I've been travelling for work and just landed in a hotel in the Netherlands. I read something in the airport that he had prostate cancer.

sprigatito · 05/02/2024 18:26

I don't think it's unreasonable for people to reflect on the inequality aspect of this, tbh. Charles won't be on a dangerously long waiting list, he won't have to beg for drugs and basic care, he won't spend any nights in agony on a trolley in a crowded corridor. Of course people are going to comment on that.

I don't wish him or his family any harm, but I don't particularly care what happens to him either. He isn't a force for good in society and he has no personal relevance for me. I have relatives with cancer who may die early deaths because of poor care and lack of resources; the contrast is stark, and it's not wrong to say so.

I think you've worded this well and I agree.

I wish him well but I find it strange that people are so much more concerned about him than other people just because he happened to be born into a royal family. I find the way things like this are reported in the press really ridiculous. It's so over the top and groveling. It's wield. It's essentially 'old man has cancer' it's sad but it's not particularly newsworthy

Same here (I'm in the NE). DiL has had confirmation of breast cancer, poor girl, but things are moving very quickly as regards treatment programme.

We are all praying for her - and if anyone on here (of any faith, or none) would join us, I'd be so grateful to you.

Many thanks.

Of course best wishes for your DiL x

The Head of State is seriously ill and it's not 'newsworthy'?

Ah bollocks, I've been travelling for work and just landed in a hotel in the Netherlands. I read something in the airport that he had prostate cancer.

He was treated for prostate issues.

While receiving that treatment, they discovered (a form of) cancer.

Which isn’t prostate cancer.
