To think it shouldn't have taken 18 minutes to get through McDonald's Drive Thru?

I love McDonalds but have pretty much given up on them. The delivery they keep pushing was taking up to 2 hours and often then being cancelled. Drive through is queuing for hours then being asked to park up. Going into shop is some kind of bun fight at my local London one.

They really need to make ghost kitchens for the delivery drivers to collect food from so the restaurants can actually function for the other customers.

yes this. There’s some massive ghost kitchens near me - can get a five guys in under 8 mins.

Does sound a bit much @wubwubwub ! As someone said though, McDonalds are prioritising deliveries now which really pisses me off. Especially as around here they only deliver within ONE MILE! I just think 'fucking hell, just cycle or walk it or get in your car!' And yes I DO know people with a car who order Maccies when they live 10 minutes walk away. Just go in your car!

Along with the long waits now, the hygiene standards have gone downhill too in McDonalds. I know of TWO restaurants that have been found to have had cockroaches and other vermin this past few weeks. I know a few people who worked there for 5-8 years pre 2015, and they said they had the most impeccable hygiene. Could eat off the floor 95% of the time. Standards have slipped all over the place now in Maccies. Sad.

As has been said, you are waiting so long now, (in drive-thru) because they have bitten off more than they can chew with all the deliveries.

Oooh I haven't noticed that! I only go once a month though - and have a coffee and a McFlurry. So I am only in there 10 mins! I will see next time if it's warm or not!

Ours has always been like this! I used a drive thru for the first time 6 years ago when I moved and had this. admittedly I don't drive there anymore as the queues are always massive

My local drive-thru is a nightmare, the queue is always really long which also means people can't get in to get to the car park. It also blocks the road for people wanting to get to the shops close by.

The one by my work now has a sign saying "no queuing past here" here being the main road.

I'm sure it doesn't. I'm very careful and am vegetarian. My DC have also never been to MD.

There is a branch near me that's particularly terrible but it's the closest to our house. I'm wondering if it's the same one - st James. I've waited 40 mins before and had zero discount etc. Some of them just don't seem to complete an efficient process. This one is only a few years old and the first year or two was disgusting for keeping people waiting and zero customer service.

Even worse going inside to order.
We were poorly over Christmas so I went to the drive thru in my PJ's with a coat on, they were busy so they shut the drive thru, I couldn't go inside in my PJ's so drove home and got dressed, drove back, parked up and realised the drive thru was now open but I was already out of the car so went inside and waited 25 mins for my order, it seems the deliveroo orders take priority as they were coming and going collecting their orders.
Funny thing is I don't even really like McDonald's, I just couldn't be arsed to cook.
