We ordered the table and chairs in the second photo, I had my heart set on chairs with knockers.
The correct table arrived but they send the chairs in the second photo accidentally.
They have offered to either replace the chairs with the ones we originally ordered within 10-14 days, or if we keep the chairs sent in error they will send us £120. Which do you prefer? Do you think the knocker chairs look smart?

I just think...why does a chair need a knocker? How nonsensical.

They are to make it easier to pull the chair out.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 25/01/2024 18:14

I hate knocker chairs I am afraid, would always go for an alternative.

Lwrenagain · 25/01/2024 18:14

@rainbowpuppy I like the ones you've been sent for practicality more, less on them means less to be broken imo.

And I like the style, my friend has similar ones in a dark green with gold knockers and they're really comfy, but the handle bit has fallen off a few times on hers with kids playing around on them.

Snoken · 25/01/2024 18:15

This style was very popular around 2015 with Housewives of… types of people. They are so far from my personal style but if I had to pick one I would go for the ones without knockers. The less bling the better.

mynameiscalypso · 25/01/2024 18:18

I didn't think I had a particularly sheltered life but I've never seen chairs with knockers on, let alone heard about them as a 'thing'. Utterly pointless and bizarre.

Notellinganyone · 25/01/2024 18:20

I hate them both! They look like they belong in a brothel.

Triskelled · 25/01/2024 18:21

Get the ones you originally ordered, OP. What will you tie the horses to otherwise?

Hillrunning · 25/01/2024 18:22

I too don't like either but the second are marginally better. I'd push for much more money back. It will cost them to collect the wrong ones, which they will either have to sell very reduced or not sell at all. So in your shoes, I'd keep but ask for £250

Poppyseed14 · 25/01/2024 18:22

I don't like either of them but if I had to I'd burn the set you got and sit on the floor keep the ones you got.

OneTC · 25/01/2024 18:23

The ones with the rings look like BDSM accessories

Least worst option no knocker very on trend will date quickly
I work for the utilities I’m in travellers houses this is there style if that’s the look you are going for it

Well said. 🤣🤣

TempName247 · 25/01/2024 18:27

I prefer the ones without knockers as well but if you really love the idea of knockers why don’t you look on eBay or Amazon for some knockers, you could easily screw them on - I’ve seen some nice lion head ones 🙂

newnameagain1976 · 25/01/2024 18:31

They look dated. The wrong ones are a bit better.

Goddessonahighway · 25/01/2024 18:34

I like the knockerless chairs. But will you look at them down the line and feel disappointed?

Throwawayaccountonaccountofthis · 25/01/2024 18:34

The chairs they sent are better. The knocker ones have been around for ages and are pretty dated now tbh.

CoffeeMachineNewbie · 25/01/2024 18:40

Get the original ones or you'll always regret it. You were already prepared to spend the £120 so you havent lost anything.

bitereactionkneepain · 25/01/2024 18:41

prefer the knockerless chairs.

I would keep them but ask for a further discount.

How do the prices compare between the two types of chairs. That will indicate how much you should ask for.

You need the difference in price and compensation for the inconvenience caused.

Good luck. haggle.

DilemmaDelilah · 25/01/2024 18:47

I don't like either, but I don't see the point in the knockers so I would keep the ones you have been sent, if the colour is right.

However.... It's not about me. If you really want the chairs with knockers and can afford them then go for what you want. I know if I had ordered something I really wanted and had been sent something else, however suitable and nice, I would be disappointed every time I looked at them.

OpalOrchid · 25/01/2024 18:49

I didn't know knockers on chairs were even a thing. I'm sniggering at knockers though like a 12 year old.

MrsApplepants · 25/01/2024 18:50

I dont like either but the chairs without the knockers are the least worst.

pixie1345 · 25/01/2024 18:53

i think there both lovely. ignore the snotty comments on here .

toomuchfaff · 25/01/2024 18:57

it's not what anyone else likes, it's what you want.

In 7 months time are you going to look at the wrong chairs and think ffs I should have swapped them

or are you going to look at the wrong chairs and think boohoo bargain I saved myself £120?

No one can answer that question but you OP.

Personally I'd want the chairs I ordered, even if ot took another 7 weeks and a load hassle. 🙃

marshmallowfinder · 25/01/2024 18:59

They're. OP asked for opinions. If people don't like them, that doesn't automatically mean their comments are snotty.

HJ40 · 25/01/2024 19:01

Knockers just scream wannabe WAG new build.

greenacrylicpaint · 25/01/2024 19:01

I think both look immensely impractical as dining chairs.

prefer the knockerless ones though.
