I think men are pretty disgusting, despicable human beings, responsible for most of the world's problems.
Not every man, of course, but enough of them to have that impact. They have appalling moral values, disrespect any male they perceive as weaker than them in any way, are misogynists, do not take responsibility for the impact of their actions. They disgust me.
I meet many I think would do what he did- who, with a group of similarly low-minded, mince-for-brains, mates, after a few drinks, have absolutely no care at all what they do to anybody, infact are quite proud of their rancid behaviour and manners.
As women- we have to take responsibility for how we raise them. I am sick of seeing teenage boys who are on the 'my-little-prince' pedestal at home. Their mothers run around after them, do everything for them, excuse them, dismiss any poor behaviour as 'being a lad', adore them, praise them continually and never challenge them or tell them what they've done is way out of order and disgraceful. They excuse them, defend them, blame others for their sons' choices and minimise the impact of those choices- they will not insist they confirm to rules/expectations/standards. They allow them to be lazy, to contribute nothing to a family, put up with cheek and bad language and even violence and will often argue about 'mental health', 'pressure' as an excuse. They laugh at their 'antics'.
Many men never intervene as disciplinarians. They laugh at these teenagers.
If you look at countries at war- it is men who cause wars; politicians, religious men, men with a greed for power and money.
On the whole it's men who destroy the environment- with war and industrial pollution and destruction.
It's men who fight the big political battles on the whole-who own the Press, who own the big companies that contribute millions to right-wing party funds so they don't end up with a party that makes them accountable or who are the head of totalitarian regimes. And they all make shit decisions that favour rich men and discriminate against women.
I have two DS and a DH who has a job running a secondary school. All 3 are decent people, as is my FIL and as was my lovely dad- but they have little effect against the masses of badly brought up, greedy, powerful men who are all about themselves and their ilk.
If women ran the world would it be different? I don't know. Having had a chance of equality we seem to have raised a generation who are pissing it up the wall by thinking sexual equality was not a chance to be free and behave better than men, but a chance for women to behave like the worst of men- boozing, drug-taking, sleeping around-and to indulge in gleeful exhibitionism that is what men really want us to demonstrate. That attitude has filtered into young women’s everyday lives and there is this free-for-all of wearing as little as possible, putting photos of yourself doing so on social media and being upset if anyone criticises or challenges you because you can do as you like without being shamed for it. They don't seem to realise they are still just doing what men want them to- because they are so heavily conditioned to please men.
I despair- where is the generation who should be challenging these men, leading the world as industrialists, educators, politicians, scientists, policy-makers, social leaders, challenging and wiping out the misogyny of the police force, armed services, lifting the level on what women could achieve, improving parenting, improving childcare provision to change how boys are brought up and allow women to compete and achieve. They all seem to regard being 'social influencers' on YouTube or wherever, or performing in cam-rooms, or having a following on Instagram because of their nails, clothes, hair, make-up as the peak of achievement- greed for attention, fame and money. It's a form of prostitution. Their ambition is so poor, they accept so little from themselves that there is no challenge or competition for the crap, awful men.
Sorry for the rant!
