When you profer drunkenness as an apparently sincere excuse for appalling behaviour, you're saying two things:

1 - You get drunk a lot.

2 - You, your family, and your friends all accept heavy drinking. Drunkenness is part of your lifestyle and probably theirs too.

There is something seriously wrong with a culture that accepts habitual drunkenness.

According to the article, this sorry excuse for an adult has a partner who is expecting his baby. I would be interested to see her reaction to his behaviour.

I've known many people who like to get drunk and it was part of their lifestyle. I literally know not one person who would do what this guy did. It's so beyond having a drinking culture. He's a psychopath and only sorry because he was caught

ChaToilLeam · 25/01/2024 16:06

Oh, what larks! Getting drunk and pissing on people, what a great way to end a night out. 🙄

Vile man, he deserves that sentence. And all the opprobrium he gets.

mrskimsneakattack · 25/01/2024 16:06

I live fairly locally - he has been well amd truly vilified on SM, I don't think he'll be getting many DJ gigs when he gets out! Horrible piece of scum.

RockStarship · 25/01/2024 15:57

What a disgusting man and I feel so sorry for his victim.

My ex used to do disgusting stuff like that- he found it hilarious telling me how him and his friends had once urinated on a homeless man in the middle of winter. He also urinated on a woman in a bar. Based on my experience with him, this vile behaviour wasn't in isolation from how he viewed and treated other people, particularly those closest to him.

Sorry I'm not trying to pile on you and I know he's now your ex, but NO part of me understands why anyone would get into / stay in a relationship with someone after hearing a story like that?!

LauderSyme · 25/01/2024 16:09

No this is not a thing. Or at least, it's only a thing for ignorant lowlife losers.

I am so pleased the culprit is being publicly shamed like this. He deserves it.

Snowdropsarecoming · 25/01/2024 16:10

Jesus! In his statement he said he didn’t realise his victim had cancer as if this would be acceptable behaviour if he did it to someone who didn’t have cancer.

SirenSays · 25/01/2024 16:12

Imagine having to leave your partner and become a single parent because of something like this. If he were my partner he'd be finding his things on the street.

HeadNorth · 25/01/2024 13:39

I read the article and his partner is expecting his child. How to pick them, eh?

Hopefully they will be on the social services radar when the child is born if not before. The child has a great future in front of it unless his father's spell in clink results in some sort of reform. One can only hope

IncompleteSenten · 25/01/2024 16:26

I fucking hate it when shits like this start bleating on about how awful it was and it's not really them and they are appalled by what they did...

No. They aren't. They thought it was funny and still do and the only thing they aren't happy about is they got caught.

Who do they think they are fooling with their faux remorse? The only thing that is worrying them is facing the consequences of their actions. They should at least have the balls to say yes, I'm a sack of crap.

unbelieveable22 · 25/01/2024 16:36

Ghentsummer · 25/01/2024 15:12

Huh? Why on earth would you post that? The poster you quoted was pointing out that those who are now searching for the video to watch are themselves an issue because they are further hurting the victim enjoying being voyeurs to his torment. So the poster you quoted obviously is not on the side of this 'waste of skin'.

Thank you @Ghentsummer that is exactly what I meant. I saw red when I read the comment and posted in haste so didn't explain clearly enough for some.

The article explained what had happened and the hurt caused so why anyone needed further proof is baffling.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/01/2024 16:36

Out of interest, how does his defence brief's comment that he's “frankly appalled” at his own behaviour and wanted to apologise to Barton stack up with "It's just something me and the boys do when we're drunk"?

I realise they've got to find something to say, but guess it would be nice to have a client who not a vile pig and won't immediately make a fool of you ...

HowDoTheyGetThroughLife · 25/01/2024 16:37

What a vile bastard he is. I hope someone pisses on him in prison AND gives him a kicking

Bloom15 · 25/01/2024 16:39

What the fuck!

What a vile specimen.

SinnerBoy · 25/01/2024 16:45

14 weeks in prison seems a light sentence.

14 hours in a pit under a portaloo at a festival would have been fitting.

RockStarship · 25/01/2024 17:02

@wowokay well if you've never found yourself in a relationship with a cruel, frightening person then you are lucky.

Cadno31 · 25/01/2024 17:05

I'm from the same town as him. He's despised here. Some of his family are awful too. Not a nice bunch of people by any means.

wowokay · 25/01/2024 17:10

RockStarship · 25/01/2024 17:02

@wowokay well if you've never found yourself in a relationship with a cruel, frightening person then you are lucky.

Sorry, again I wasn't trying to pile on - I mean I get it if it was an abusive or controlling relationship, but I guess you kind of mentioned it like a casual anecdote which made me think the bar is really low

Tooolde · 25/01/2024 17:10

Horrific.
But only worse that its an older man and ill (prostate cancer being very common)
It would be similar if anyone. noone should have someones wee on them!

But i think possibly boys are not being picked up on their bullying mean behaviour from school age. A genuine put yourself in the other person's place

For eg my dd has had a boy squirt water on her in class at least twice. Yesterday he did it to another girl. Same boy was betting with his friends who could touch dd bum (one of them did) again in class!!
I think the problem is the boys/men/women who find all these things funny!

Her reaction to his behaviour ? Don't think for a minute she is bothered as it was after this disgusting act before she became pregnant by him. Her morals are obviously non existent also.

storminabuttercup · 25/01/2024 17:11

Is this a thing? Men pissing on people? Yeah it happens, same as them throwing piss in bottles, spitting, basically being dirty f*cks. This one got caught and I wish they all did.

mathanxiety · 25/01/2024 17:14

@Tooolde

It's very clear that part of the problem is school in your case.

I would make a very serious and strongly worded complaint to the teacher, the HT, and the board of governors, and threaten Ofsted on the school if a child of mine were sexually assaulted in school (i.e. touching her bottom) or forced to sit in class and be on the same playground with boys who had made this threat.

cupcakesarelife · 25/01/2024 17:17

Alcohol is the excuse. These are terrible human beings that show their true evil
when their inhibitions are down. Imagine what they’re like behind closed doors. How they treat women. Or even children. Disgusting. They’ve never had to face consequences for this behaviour, God knows what else they’ve done. Let them face the consequences in jail.

Thedogscollar · 25/01/2024 17:23

No morals.
No values.
No regard at all for other people.
He is the epitome of depravity.
The lowest of the low.

Snowdropsarecoming · 25/01/2024 16:10

Jesus! In his statement he said he didn’t realise his victim had cancer as if this would be acceptable behaviour if he did it to someone who didn’t have cancer.

That's why I watched the video rather than just blindly swallowing the sensationalist headlines. The man actually told him he had cancer first, he then said sorry to hear that mate and then pissed over him. Twice.

But apparently I'm part of the problem because I watched it. By that logic I'm also responsible for the demise of some of the victims of the post office scandal because I watched the documentary. I'm also responsible for the sinking of the Titanic because you've guessed it, I watched the movie..oh and the texas chainsaw massacre? Yep, that was me too!

Barrenfieldoffucks · 25/01/2024 17:26

According to his apology, this is only worth an apology because the victim had had cancer?!
