To find David Lammy rude, obnoxious and uninformed?

I tuned into LBC the other day and David Lammy was on , discussing the unrest in the Red Sea region.

There was a caller on , Jack , who was trying to share his opinion but David Lammy continuously shouted over the caller, interrupting and heckling and was downright rude . Including him actually shouting "this is my show Jack, not yours !" , which I thought was absurd .

It made me wonder what the point is of letting the public call in if you are not interested in capturing diverse opinions and voices on discussion topics ?

If I spoke like that to a member of my team or any member of the public there would be serious concerns about my conduct.

AIBU to find David Lammy an arrogant tw*t for speaking to callers like this ? Is this the way that you would facilitate a discussion ?

I am ofcourse BU for listening to LBC in the first place but the car had been for valeting so I blame them for messing with the dials . Grin

So glad it's not just me...can't bear hearing him.

@Kier, please, please hide him away before the election, or better still get rid of him as front bench.

Boomboom22 · 21/01/2024 14:13

Seriously? He does not actually drug his wife, he never has.
Lammy actually does advocate for giving children drugs to stop their puberty and was instrumental in the GRA so yes, lammy is infinitely more dangerous as he actually does cause real damage to women, girls and gender non conforming children of any sex.

Do you really all not get this? It's not a party political matter where uou can afford to scream oh the nasty party, when labour are supporting this.

He thinks women are hoarding their rights like dinosaurs. Stopping diddums blokes with special feelings from cheating in sports or getting their rocks off accessing women's spaces.

He's quite happy for girls to change in front of middle age men at the swimming pool... which makes him either very stupid or paedophile enabler... (All the men have to do is pretend to be trans... )

or male rapists to share a cell or the showerrs with women in prison, (some of whom have already been sexually assaulted in prison)

or rape victims not getting single sex support groups without men...

or women in hospital sharing a ward bay with men... (at least one of whom has been raped by a male who identified as trans)

IClaudine · 21/01/2024 14:19

God, the hatred for trans people just drips off some of these posts.

Presumably he was sacked for saying that?

For some bizarre reason, no.

How do you know that to be true?

I find them both odious and objectionable, for different reasons.

Well either Cleverly does drug his wife, or is too stupid to understand that saying that he does is not funny.

Neither is a good look for a Home Secretary and it is notable that the Prime Minister is too weak to sack him.

But of course David Lammy....

I guess Lammy's boss has forgotten that he announced that he would bring honesty ingretity and professionalism to the job.

Perhaps not surprising as Sunak had forgotten at the covid enquiry why he was there, and during covid that it was against the law to attend parties.

But David Lammy...

IClaudine · 21/01/2024 14:28

I wonder why Lammy gets more hate than other politicians who are supportive of trans people and who occasionally say stupid things...

You do know all of that’s happened on the Tories’ watch? They’re all quite happy with everything you mention.

Because he has a radio show and there are similar threads about other politicans who have radio shows where they say offensive things, indeed there was one just this morning about the vile pack of lies being spouted on GBrants.

The thing is @BIossomtoes Labour has control of the HoLs and really it is them that decides what happens in the UK. Of course it used to be "Brussels" but now we have taken back control it is Labour in the HoLs.

Here’s the clip from LBC. Lammy understands that a cervix is something they ‘can have, following various procedures and hormone treatment and all the rest of it.’
He doesn’t think they have ovaries but sounds unsure.

The hesitancy in his voice and the tell-tale "and all the rest of it" shows he doesn't really believe/understand was he's saying, just can't be brave enough to say so.

Seriously? You can tell that from the tail end of a 28 second clip?

PonyPatter44 · 21/01/2024 14:48

His report on race was very good and enlightening. However, he went on record as saying that he thought anyone could grow a cervix...He strikes me as being the usual sort of single issue expert, who is very good on his pet subject (in Lammy's case, race) but remarkably dire on others.

Am impressive defence of 14 years of Tory government?

Did Johnson hesitate when he was lying to parliament?
Did Sunak hesitate when supporting Johnson in those lies?

Race and institutional racism is a 'pet subject'??

Christ on a bike.

Totally agree on him being very good on some subjects and absolutely appalling on others

Why are you bringing them into it?

You don't need to be a Tory if you think David Lammy is an idiot.

I think it is a bit like knowing what a woman is, is a pet subject for some.

Thinking about it does Cleverly thing of his wife as a pet to sedate if she gets irritating?

But he is still less of an idiot than the Foreign Secretary, who isn't even elected to represent us.

The question was about David Lammy not Tories. There's no need to bring any of them into it.

Indeed the Tories would dearly love us not to discuss their 14 years in government, but instead discuss But David Lammy.

Lets not forget the great intellect D Raab who was deputy Prime Minister who is equally worried about misogyny against men as well as women.
