Holly Willoughby…on Dancing on ice.

For some reason I thought she wouldn’t be coming back, she seems a little different

What was 'strange' about the timing please?

That it came when everyone thought she knew about Schofield and she was getting a lot of negativity for turning a blind eye.

Are you accusing her, the police and the crown prosecution of making up a story?

Blimey, Phil must've been more popular than I thought.

@PaintingPictures

You really think the kidnapper, who is now is custody and is facing significant jail time, was somehow doing this at the behest of his intended victim?

Do you realize how deranged you sound?

Do you realize how deranged you sound?

I really don't think they do, which is a worry in itself.

PaintingPictures · 14/01/2024 23:55

You're implying she's faking?
Fuck me.
Some sick conspiracy theorists as well as mysogynistics on here tonight.

I think it’s dodgy yes. She was getting a lot of grief for what Schofield did as it was a known rumour at itv so there’s no way she didn’t know. Then a story comes along to makes us all think ‘poor Holly’. I don’t believe it.

I’m not a misogynist. I said that if men carry on working after doing much, much worse than Holly turning a blind eye to her ‘friends’ behaviour, then why shouldn’t Holly carry on. I’d personally just like some decent people on tv but I don’t think there’s enough of them around. I think if we did have decent humans on tv, they would mostly be women as there are more disgusting men around.

The man was charged.

It would involve more than just Holly lying but the police lying, fake evidence being planted and agreeing to make a false arrest and charging an innocent man with something he didn't actually do.

Just because she got some criticism?

Sounds plausible...

Banrion · 15/01/2024 00:35

Damn I thought this thread was about the crow woman. I thought you were saying the crow lady is back on her thread! I'm obsessed!

You think the police and CPS stepped in at that exact moment just to help put her career/reputation?

seriously?

I'm rude but starting a thread about a woman whose life was turned upside down and someone had plotted to kill and do God knows what to her is fine on Mumsnet :)

IncompleteSenten · 15/01/2024 14:57

. “Women have very little idea of how much men hate them" wrote Germaine Greer. She should have added that women have very little idea how much other women hate them if they're successful, slim and physically attractive.

I agree with you but this is a forum where anyone can start thread about any public figure.

So, WHY did she stay? Didn't have anywhere to go? Not a good role model for young women

I don’t remember him cheating? When did that happen?

fuckssaaaaake · 15/01/2024 18:49

People are such dicks about her, they really need to get a life!

I can't help thinking if she was overweight, with bad skin and hair, they'd love her.

Hesgoodontheice · 15/01/2024 20:33

@OhBumBags Not at all, plenty of beautiful presenters & actresses etc who are very likeable, nothing to do with looks.

Most people - including women - liked HW until she started to show her true colours.

I genuinely thought she was just a nice lass. I love to see women doing well, because it’s a victory for all of us.

I thought she was nice until I realised she wasn’t.

Very specifically I thought HW was superior, condescending and deceitful about going to see the Queen’s coffin. Neither her nor Schofield could summon a genuine apology.

I thought she was hugely disrespectful to Schofield’s wife when he came out as gay, squealing about whether there was anyone special and future dating. Wildly inappropriate.

She was very vocal about being BFF with Schofield once he was publicly out as gay - they did everything together. They even holidayed together and bought holiday homes next to each other. I don’t believe for a second she didn’t see what was going on with the young runner. She either knew or chose to turn a blind eye. But when Schofield was publicly slammed, she dropped him like a stone as it would have been career suicide. In the same way that as he became Mr Popular after announcing he was gay, she was quick to hitch her wagon to his.

I don’t think she’s a nice person. She’s beautiful and has a lovely figure, and she’s good at presenting- but nice? No.

Reiterating the point that no one deserves death threats. But just because she’s had a death threat doesn’t mean that any of her previous behaviour should suddenly be ignored.

None of the above means I hate women. I don’t even hate HW. I just don’t think she’s as nice as she’d like us to think.

I could give you a long list of beautiful , talented women - starting with Hannah Waddingham - that I admire. It’s possible to dislike someone’s behaviour without it being due to “hating women”.

I think it's time HW left out TV screens. Give someone else a chance, she's had her time - and she's just not that personable nor good a presenter frankly.

This. Except the bit about Hannah Wasdingham; she’s supposed to be horrible.

I didn't watch the show, but I did enjoy seeing Mulhern being decked 🤣

A friend of mine worked with her and said she was lovely.

Zingy123 · 16/01/2024 08:17

@googoodoll22 you are entitled to your opinion. I think she's a terrible presenter. She comes across as 100% fake. She puts on a childlike voice at the drop of a hat. There are many more talented presenters who could have taken over.

BobnLen · 16/01/2024 08:22

Holly is similar to Tess on Strictly, I suppose people don't like her either, they are just introducing the acts and doing a bit of light filler not presenting the news.
