For some reason I thought she wouldn’t be coming back, she seems a little different

All the criticism about her looks is tiresome.

Apart from the fact she's clearly a beautiful woman (and I'd hazard a guess far more beautiful than the majority of us Mumsnetters), She's just a woman doing her well paid job that she clearly loves 🤷‍♂️

She only left TM, she didn't say she wasn't going to work at all, she is only in her early 40s, she probably doesn't want to give up work yet.

You could say they about any presenter that they’ve earned enough and should allow someone else a chance - why single Holly out?

I caught a bit of it and thought she looked fantastic considering all that she’s been through. She’s a good presenter for the type of programme.

@Newgreendress what a horrible comment. Would you say that to a colleague who chose to stay and try to work things out? Just because she's in the public eye doesn't mean she has to conform to your sense of propriety

I don't watch presenter type programmes. But can see that they carry a programme because people like them. That's a big responsibility.

I can't remember SM being that bad when he filled in before, it was like he was trying too hard, Holly was fine though and seemed quite relaxed.

It's envy. Women's are socialised to believe other women are their competition and that more attractive women are worth more as people. Holly Willoughby is very attractive. We are not socialised to lift other women up, especially if we perceive them as better than us.

It's misogyny. Everything is women's fault. So it may have been phil schofield who did something inappropriate, but as the first rule of misogyny states it must be a woman's fault so Holly gets the kicking.

And it's also that there are just some nasty small minded people who can only feel good when they're having a go at someone else.

I don't watch dancing on ice or this morning but I'd have thought after what she went through, normal people would be sympathetic. But I foolishly forgot she was a woman in the public eye so actually only deserves ridicule about every aspect of her appearance, her personality and her life.

After everything she’s been through in her shoes I would take a step back focus on having a more private family life and let the husband be the main bread winner. Why doesn't the husband insist on that? For her own well-being. If he’s half way decent. Don’t know why but I’ve always had a bit of suspicion she is coerced I don’t know why though.

She’s been through an horrific time. I hope working will help her recover.

She's had 3 months off with her family and Dancing On Ice is not a daily show, unlike This Morning was.

I thought Holly was "fine" as usual, no more no less. She always does a competent job of presenting and stands still looking amazing in a succession of fabulous frocks.

I don't know much about her, but presumably her job is a presenter, so presumably she'll pop up on various programs?
I don't get the issue, she's doing what she studied / trained to do. Good on her for getting the job, I'd imagine it's extremely competitive.

But why didn’t This morning mention her at all, they discussed DOI at length last week?
