Sick of Dds teacher

Dd is 5 and in Pre school (we’re abroad)
She started to not want to go in, in October, she said the teacher was shouting at the children for not doing the work properly etc (I posted on here) I went in several times, plus Dh too.
The teacher said she didn’t shout etc etc, things got better.
This week, she’s been crying again at bedtime and this morning was crying not to go in again, I ended up getting out of her (eventually) that the teacher has been shouting at her (and others) if she puts her name in the wrong place on the paper 🤷🏻‍♀️apparently she shouts ‘Not there, over here!’
Dd was also upset as she says one of the boys in her class (one of her friends) is always shouted at to sit still and stop playing. I’ve seen this boy, he’s very sweet, but younger and obviously full of energy. I understand he has to learn to try to sit and not play during lessons and so on, but Dd says he cries and cries and his face goes red.
So sick and tired of going in to complain and nothing being done.
Dd finishes with this teacher at the end of June, but we want to stay in the school and have to re register to move up to the next part of school. I don’t want to take her out and put the chance of this in jeopardy, but equally I can’t put my Dd in this situation all the time.
This is not merely a teacher bashing thread, I’m a teacher myself and would
never get cross and shout it a 5 year old put their name in the *Wrong place on a paper!
What else can I do? I also need to work part time, so need to have Dd in Pre school
She adores her friends there, is very well liked, loves the teaching assistant, who she says is *Kind to her 😔

Well, personally, I think it denotes a limited mindset to claim not to "like" people on the basis of their job.

Probably but it's quite common . Think of traffic wardens. Health visitors. I'm sure there are others.

Although it tends to be people who don't work who are most critical of other people. Once you have worked in a customer facing role yourself you tend to have a much better understanding of the challenges involved.

I worked for a while with unemployed clients who received for free a service other people had to pay market rate for. The ones getting it for free were the ones demanding service at all hours with absolutely no understanding of why it wasn't possible to do exactly what they wanted. The paying clients usually said thank you even if they rolled their eyes at the cost.

If I say I don’t like potatoes do you infer that I don’t like some sorts of potato? Some individual potatoes? Or all potatoes?

Sorry but do you have a potato problem.

It’s just weird that they’d care so much about one random poster’s opinion. Why is it so important that everyone likes teachers? I’m a lawyer. No one likes lawyers. I’m fine with that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nobody is saying everybody has to like teachers. They are saying that to state that you don’t like any of them is a bit weird. Which it is.

this Makes no sense whatsoever.
If you can’t respond to a simple analogy, there’s no hope really, is there?

@doublexegg I've not paid for premium.... I've now taken the time to read that lots of people think your comment was ridiculous....

I don't like cheese .... so it means I don't like any cheese, surely?

But I think you're being really silly now....

But you won't listen to that, all the posters saying you're being ridiculous are correct!

@doublexegg I assume a certain level of intelligence and saying

I don't like teachers

Doesn't meet it

I also challenge the

I don't like cyclists

What would you suggest would replace teachers, that you would like?,

Unicornsunited123 · 12/01/2024 20:34

Saying a blanket statment ' I don't like teachers' is bizarre, but what I've learnt from MN is some people seem to be and its usually waste of time trying to unpick it

@doublexegg I bet your kids are a delight and their teachers adore them (and you!)

kisstheblarney · 12/01/2024 20:39

@doublexegg do you home school?

Thank you for asking but i dont think children should be pulled in to this really silly thing to do to come at any ones children.
But if you must know my children are grown adults.
Hope you are ok dont let a thread pull you to that level.

No

dandeliondaisy · 12/01/2024 20:46

No probs lovely, doesn't get me down. I have many years of experience, teachers are used to the predictable types who say such distasteful things. I'd genuinely love to hear what else you don't like, just for sh*ts and giggles!

kisstheblarney · 12/01/2024 20:47

@doublexegg so why didn't you home school if you don't like teachers.... what a failing!

I havent said anything distasteful just one word lol.
I think teachers are under pressure alot with parents nowdays,
I feel bad for some and worse for the teachers that leave teaching because of the state of the system.

kisstheblarney · 12/01/2024 20:47

This is not about my children.

kisstheblarney · 12/01/2024 20:56

@doublexegg it's about you not liking teachers.....

Why would you allow them to be in charge of your children?
