Very cruel ,dogs are so much a kind of tool to be used/abused by the owners.Pot luck really as to what owners they get isnt it.Poor things

Valeriemoor · 08/01/2024 16:45

He might have saved someone’s life.

TheProblemBlob · 08/01/2024 16:36

Thanks. I also wasn’t sure whether the vigilantes had attacked him because he’d harmed the dog, or because they didn’t want an XL bully in their building. I could see it being either, to be honest, wonder if there are communities where people will put pressure on others to get rid of their new dogs.
It’s a mess all round.

The vigilantes attacked the person who killed the dog, as retribution for killing an innocent animal. He was beaten, slashed and stabbed for what he did to the dog.

OneTuTuThree · 08/01/2024 16:46

If it's the one I'm thinking of, the poor dog was first sedated and then beaten to death by it's owner, Logan Smith.
The utterly despicable coward had to sedate it first so it couldn't defend itself against the horrendous, agonising attack!!
He was put in hospital by vigilantes, where he was subsequently arrested.

SlashBeef · 08/01/2024 16:31

I was more upset by the countless videos of people being mauled by these things tbh.

I agree with this comment.

It's a dangerous breed not helped by the fact that most people who want to own one are as thick as pig-shit.

No animal should be tortured or killed in a cruel manner, but I will not be spending too much time hand-wringing over there being one less if them in the world.

However, I think they should be humanely destroyed. There is no justification for cruelty.

Irresponsible breeder(s) bred a stupidly powerful dog and sold to whoever had the cash

An irresponsible dog owner bought an inappropriate dog

That irresponsible dog owner sold the dog on to whoever would have it because they couldn't be bothered to follow some reasonable restrictions

Another irresponsible owner bought the dog, probably because it was a bargain and planned to keep the huge dog in a flat

That irresponsible owner admits to feeding it edibles

Yes, of course the problem was the new restrictions, nothing to do with the idiots that breed the dog or its subsequent owners 🙄

notanothernana · 08/01/2024 16:49

I don't understand it, if you love your xl bully and are a responsible owner you would just comply? Surely. I don't understand why the massive offloading of these dogs. I have a dog and I would pay £92 to register it, muzzle train it and take it out on a lead. I am starting to suspect that most xl bully owners didn't give a shit.

This is utterly sick.

I'm not a dog fan, I prefer cats. Though, I do love a Staffie.

But I abhor any and all violence and abuse toward animals.

What an absolute cunt. That poor dog. 😢 Humans are fucking sick.

Cosmosforbreakfast · 08/01/2024 16:50

This is nothing to to with the ban. This is animal cruelty and that is never ok no matter what breed it is.

This could have been prevented by Humza pulling his head out of his arse and implementing a ban as well.

Lasegna · 08/01/2024 16:50

Valeriemoor · 08/01/2024 16:45

He might have saved someone’s life.

Let's just legalise murder. That baby could have been the reincarnation of hitler, she had it coming.

IncompleteSenten · 08/01/2024 16:51

Poor dog.

It's not the fault of dogs. People have done this to them. People have bred them like this. People have abused them, dog fights etc. people have failed to train them or have actually trained them to be savage. People have failed to ensure they are appropriately restrained.

I don't understand why any blame is being put on animals here. A dog is just a dog. They are completely innocent and shouldn't be being blamed as though they were deciding to be what they are. They aren't people.

Utterbunkum · 08/01/2024 16:51

@MargaritaThyme the dog will have died in terrible pain inflicted upon it by somebody who will have been fully aware of that. You cannot possibly think that is something to be celebrated. I doubt very much your friend the vet would endorse such brutality even upon an animal of a breed that had done them harm. Because the huge difference between a dog and a human is that dogs don't do this for the joy of torturing another creature. Vets know this. Whilst they might advocate a dangerous animal being PTS, they do NOT advocate torturing it because it has been bred and trained by humans to act purely on an instinct it only has to that degree because humans put it there.

Work2live · 08/01/2024 16:53

Anyone actively celebrating the horrific death of a dog like this is almost as vile as the perpetrator.

I genuinely cannot believe some of the hatred spewed on these XL bully threads. Makes me wonder whether I know anyone IRL who conceals equally ugly thoughts underneath their "animal-loving" demeanour.

Humans (if we can even call them that at this point) have so much to answer for.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 08/01/2024 16:54

thetworonnies · 08/01/2024 16:09

The dog may have been rehomed due to the original owner being in social housing and not allowed to keep the dog which would, imo, be a consequence of the ban.

I know there won't be much sympathy on here - I've been told plenty of times that my dog should be killed - but my heart goes out to that poor thing. Humans are revolting.

But that owner made the chance to sell the dog to an uncertain and unsafe future rather than doing the kind and responsible thing.

There are worse fates than euthanasia and this case is a stark illustration of that.

You don't sell on vulnerable animals, you secure their future permanently like a responsible animal owner.

Valeriemoor · 08/01/2024 16:54

Animal loving ? Most people aren’t really

Edited

Humane euthanasia.
People who absolutely worship and love their pet dogs and cats call the vet out to their home to administer a humane end to a cherished animal who is terminally ill .

It is a peaceful ending.

But why would this cruel arsehole not have taken the dog to a vet to be humanely euthanised if he no longer wanted the dog?

No need to cause any animal unnecessary suffering.

Seems like he actively wanted to 'bully his bully'.

Much as Ollie the Pitbull's owner did.

Certain types of dogs really attract violent cruel owners.

Animal loving ? Most people aren’t really

Especially pet owners
Seen people with off leash dogs near a duck pond the other week

YourInGoodCompany · 08/01/2024 16:56

The government should be paying for cost of dogs to be PTS. Owners have no excuse then.

Caravaggiouch · 08/01/2024 16:56

This isn’t a consequence of the ban. No owners have to get rid of their dogs, they just have to comply with the new rules. That so many are unwilling to do so shows they should never have had the dogs in the first place.

SomeCatFromJapan · 08/01/2024 16:58

There's actual posters of the guy with his home address on twitter. Looks like he won't be sitting down for a while now anyway.

Apparently it was done by a vigilante group of XL Bully fans.

Dutchesss · 08/01/2024 16:58

I don't know if people are misunderstanding or just utterly horrible.

The dog had done nothing wrong and was poisoned, stabbed, beaten and tortured before being left in the street.

Vigilantes then attacked the owner.

No animal deserves this, it's life was created by humans for our amusement. It's heartbreaking. Even dogs that attack deserve to be euthanised humanely.
Humans are awful.

Easypeasycheesy · 08/01/2024 16:59

MK19590 · 08/01/2024 15:57

Something similar happened in London where a mutilated corpse of an XL bully was found down a back road.

These people are disgusting. If the dog is dangerous and posing a threat to human life then it needs to be PTS humanely

I just read about this, an ear cut off, legs tied up, burnt. Absolutely horrific, appalling.

StaunchMomma · 08/01/2024 17:00

Shit owners did this - both the dog's old ones and new ones.
