There is already a thread about this on the Telly Addicts forum here

However this seems like such an important subject that I thought I would draw attention to it on AIBU.

The first episode aired tonight but the whole series is available on itvx.

Most of you will no doubt have heard about the Horizon scandal, but whether you have or you haven't this program is compelling. It will probably make you furious but it deserves as wide an audience as possible.,

🍷for you@PerkingFaintly, you deserve it.

PerkingFaintly · 24/04/2024 19:00

Thank you, @newnamethanks ! Shan't argue: whether I deserve one or not, I need one!

JL690 · 25/04/2024 08:50

What channel is it on?

nauticant · 25/04/2024 09:17

B Day is on the Inquiry's youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@postofficehorizonitinquiry947

The starting time is normally 10am but recently they've been having 9.45 starts and I think that's the case with Bogerd. However, if you join the channel a bit late, you can set the playback speed to 1.25x and you slowly catch up as the proceedings go on. Refresh the youtube link shortly before 9.45 and you'll see where to go.

JL690 · 25/04/2024 09:18

@nauticant thank you

nauticant · 25/04/2024 09:44

It'll be interesting to see the number of viewers. Recently it's been a few thousand, but there'll be plenty more for the next couple of days.

Ooh, it's Jason Beer KC acting for the Inquiry today.

PerkingFaintly · 25/04/2024 10:39

She's very good at "proof by tedium", isn't she?

Beer: <precise question>

Angela Van den Bogerd: <waffle waffle in as much as waffle waffle different thing waffle waffle waffle waffle not aware of waffle waffle waffle not any intention to waffle waffle waffle my team were waffle waffle>

PerkingFaintly · 25/04/2024 10:45

Well that's the killer email: PO saying in 2010 they knew Fujitsu could remotely alter branch balances.

HomelessAngua · 25/04/2024 11:02

Oh dear - she is not coming across well - didn't read the email that was sent to her...

nauticant · 25/04/2024 11:15

I'm 35 minutes behind and slowly catching up. Nearly 14000 watching.

BarrelOfOtters · 25/04/2024 11:48

Gosh this isn't going well. I'm cringing.

nauticant · 25/04/2024 12:06

There was a significant intervention by Sir Wyn Williams when he asked why Bogerd had not been open about Fujitsu access in the meeting with the SPM and she wcouldn't come up with an answer. What he was after there was the fact that most important thing that Bogerd did know, and what informed much of what she did in relation to her activities around Horizon, was to protect its reputation for being completely solid and reliable. It's clear that Williams is going to have this at the core of the report produced by the Inquiry, that lives were destroyed because the only thing that counted was for the Post Office to protect the reputation of Horizon.

DuncinToffee · 25/04/2024 12:07

I can't watch it live so am trying to follow it via a live blog, it's all quite damning

PerkingFaintly · 25/04/2024 12:48

Yes, and more and more damning as the day wears on.

nauticant · 25/04/2024 12:49

She's at the point where she's so deep in it that she feels it's too risky to tell the truth.

HomelessAngua · 25/04/2024 12:58

"Did you forget about this email, too?" - splendid!

JL690 · 25/04/2024 16:27

I liked Mr Beer KC. He clearly did not believe her answer about the email in December 2010 because he kept coming back to it as if he was giving her many opportunities to change her response but all she did was dig a much deeper hole each time.

HomelessAngua · 25/04/2024 16:31

I didn't believe her either!

Today's livestream from the Inquiry:

nauticant · 26/04/2024 10:06

Oh. It starts going in hard with the case of Martin Griffiths.
