Who should play Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, Ron, Bogdan, Stephen, Donna, Chris, Patrice, Pauline, and Computer Bob?

Art Malik is a good shout for Ibrahim.
Richard Ridings for Ron (aka Daddy Pig - but he can do a rough accent too)

Nigel Havers for Stephen

Adjoa Andoh for Patrice

Joyce has to be Penelope Wilton or Anne Reid. would both be spectacular.

What about Celia Imrie for Elizabeth?

I far prefer Lesley Manville’s narration but I do like Fiona Shaw’s Elizabeth and so she is who I picture in that role now.

Would like Lesley Manville for Joyce although I agree Penelope Wilton would be brilliant too.

Weirdly I see George Aligiah as Ibrahim but hes just a newsreader !
Helen Mirran as Elizabeth and I think Annette Crosbie as Joyce.

Ron Ray Winston and would love Jason Mamoa as Bogdan .....

I’m reading the last book and for the last couple I can’t get Adrian Scarborough out of my head for Ron. He played Pete in Gavin and Stacy. Though is he too short??

Apparently they’re casting younger people and aging them up so that they can keep the series going for longer.

She's 63, perfect age to make the whole series over the next ten years. And her face is totally natural and thoroughly expressive.

Definitely Eileen Atkins for Elizabeth. Didn't realise I had been picturing her until I read this thread!

Ridiculous but for some reason envisaged Elizabeth as Annette Crosbie but not necessarily playing her. They're meant to be 80

Donna is mixed race in the books so Bel Powley wouldn't work...

Chris as Peter Kay or the guy who plays Morse's boss in Endeavour who marries Joan
