What are you doing tonight if it's just you and your partner?

I've been married for 18 years. My DH and I have decided to spend new year at home just the two of us as we will be working tomorrow (self employed!)

We don't seem to have fun together anymore. We just go through the motions.

We don't laugh as much. :(

I'd love some inspiration and to hear about how you are spending this evening if it's just you and your partner.

Watching Slow Horses, sharing a bottle of wine with dinner, then a wee whisky and off to bed. We’ve been married 20 years, that’s enough Hogmanays under our belt. DS 1 is out at a sleepover / party, and DS2 will put himself to bed.

We’re both still feeling knackered and peopled-out from Christmas so currently slumped on screens in different rooms. We’ll go for a walk around midnight to look at fireworks and get some new year fresh air, maybe watch a bit of tv together before or ftet that, and have plans to spend some time together tomorrow playing a board game or something.

Great home cooked meal (if I do say so myself) and great sex!

Chilling in bed now reading out books/the internet, with radio on. Expect we will be asleep before midnight.

We alternate each NYE being just the two of us/being with my daughter - when she is here we tend to go out but when it's just us it's a quiet one.

Had some ‘us’ time earlier, then ordered a food delivery
Will watch abit of tv, and watch the fireworks and Big Ben on the BBC with a cup of tea (We dont drink)
Then go to bed… New Year is just another year

Built some lego and now watching and listening to the top 2000 NPO Radio 2, I'm in NL. We have snacks, beer and enjoying the tunes! Curently #11 Pink Floyd-Wish you were here. DH is also researching the cost of health insurance for next year vs own risk cost. You only have one moment in the year to change who insures you and add/remove some parts of your package and that moment is now! Living the high life here!
I'll go to bed soon, hoping the village doesn't errupt with fireworks too much.
I have parkrun in the morning.

DS and his GF cooked a pasta dinner and have gone off to watch a film with the dog, it’s chucking down rain here.
DH is upstairs streaming a series and I am watching The Proposal way down the digi channels whilst browsing t’internet with a calypso coffee. 39 yrs together! May not stay awake until 2024.

We cooked a cheese fondue, popped open a few bottles of wine and have been binge watching random movies all day. It's been such a busy year we're so pleased so be under a blanket just the two of us and some peace!

Toddler sleeping peacefully. DH and I have had party food, Christmas cheese and Champagne with Harrison Ford and now Liam Neeson for company. No way I'll make it to midnight!

We're at home just us two (no kids).

We've watched some sport, now watching Graham Norton and eating chocolate and DH is having a few drinks (I don't drink).

Perfectly happy with our evening.

Chinese takeaway, gin now and champagne at midnight, and binge watching Slow Horses with the fire on. The most relaxed I've been all holiday!

Had my husbands amazing mince and tatties for dinner, now in bed channel surfing !!! If we stay awake til midnight it's cool if we don't it's still cool !!! X

We have just been out for dinner both kids at NYE parties (19 and 17) - chilling now with a drink and a cuddle while watching TV 😀

DP cooked a really lovely dinner. We have had a bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails. Watching the last leg and DP laughing his head off

We do singstar (basically kareoke with a competition element). Neither of us can sing but there is nothing like a good old sing to lift spirits. (Nb we live in a semi with non adjoining living room so we won't be traumatising our neighbours 😂)

@idril DH has just agreed we can get singstar! Result!

We had party food earlier, a couple of drinks. We have the TV on and are just going to have a coffee with Bailey’s cream. Pink champagne in the fridge for midnight, but not certain we will make it.

Nice dinner (cooked by DH) now watching different tv programmes in separate rooms Grin as a PP said, we just have such different tastes in tv, last night we tried to compromise & find a film we both enjoyed but neither is us thought much of it. I expect DH will go to bed before midnight but ai like to see the NY in (not sure why really!).

We have been together 35 years and very happy.

We had ramen for dinner with the teen DS's who are happily chatting to their mates online.

DH has gone to bed, and I am eating peanuts and MNetting waiting to watch the fireworks with the kids.
