What are you doing tonight if it's just you and your partner?

I've been married for 18 years. My DH and I have decided to spend new year at home just the two of us as we will be working tomorrow (self employed!)

We don't seem to have fun together anymore. We just go through the motions.

We don't laugh as much. :(

I'd love some inspiration and to hear about how you are spending this evening if it's just you and your partner.

He's on his phone with a cup of tea 🙄 I'm having a glass of wine and scrolling MN.
I think he's sulking because his friend wasn't free for a drink tonight, a drink with me is clearly off the table. Ah well I'll leave him to it and enjoy my wine, I'm starting dry jan tomorrow so intend on making the most of it

We are having a few drinks and watching some stand up comedy. We saw some friends last night instead. DH claims he is determined to stay up until midnight, I think I'll fall asleep before that, having been up since before 6am.

Chinese takeaway and both sat watching stuff - me on the telly, him on his phone. No different to an average night. We've caught up on the things we watch together (not much, can count on one hand) and we have very different tastes in TV shows.
Oh and my sleeping 5 year old currently has her arm draped over my chest - will have to prize her off when the food comes!

We’ve had a Chinese and a couple of drinks, I’ll be going to bed soon with my Kindle and DH will stay up drinking and watching tv until gone midnight before going to sleep in the spare room. We have a baby who doesn’t sleep so not worth me staying up!!

37 yrs since we met and a very rare new yr off for me.
Seperate rooms i might add and he has our new cat as dh will be awake when the fireworks go off which they will for half an hour.
Loving all the food plans M netters have. 😁

DH has just pointed out that hopefully the bad weather will turn the fireworks into damp squibs. (He didn't put it as well though).

Party food in the oven - cat cowering as the fireworks have been going on and off since about 6. We did go out for a nice lunch earlier then home to do all the cleaning.

Pre kids we used to make.party food, watch TV, drink a bottle or 2 of prosecco or champagne and fall asleep after lots of drunken sex. Highly recommend.

Tonight we had party food with the kids, we're still putting them to bed and we may try the TV, a bucks fizz each and a quiet shag downstairs because romance isn't dead yet .,..

We've been together 17 years so not far off your own experience

Cuddling on the sofa with our doggies on our iPads. He’s watching American football (yawn), so I’m watching Die Hard, lol.

He's taking down the tree and putting away decorations. I've just woken up on couch, felt crap earlier. Don't think I, ll see midnight at this rate. Got a houseful tomo, fingers crossed I feel better.

Is that the one that was re-made as You’ve Got Mail? For the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to work out how I can see it (for free) but no luck even though it must be about 80 years old!

I can beat that for doing nothing! We flew home from being at my parents place in SouthWest Florida since early December this morning myself, my DH and our two DS’s (well we flew at 6pm last night but arrived home at 1pm today) Soooo my DH went to bed at 7pm as soon as we’d put the boys to bed at 6:45pm (they only slept for 4 hours last night on the flight) so I’m sat watching Netflix by myself not great but understandable given the circumstances.
