To ask if you think I’ve just been scammed?

I think I have and I feel sooo stupid.

I followed an Instagram as for the Space Nk 2023 advent calendar advertised as now being 45.99. Website looked like the Space NK website. I ordered and paid.

My receipt to my email said the payment would appear as to ‘leggingsoutlet’ svuch seemed very odd. I checked the website again and it’s Soace NK outlet not actual Space NK.

Make sure you screen shot any communications you get from the scammers as by the time you can lodge a complaint the website will probably have closed down….

The same link came up on Instagram for me just after Christmas.
Most interesting, let's have a look - I told myself. I don't blame anyone who went through with the purchase.
The picture was of 2022 Space NK advent calendar and also I was not aware Space NK have any outlet website. Also the website address looked unusual. One of the links from 'about us' or such like does go to the genuine Space NK website. Very brazen.
All in all things didn't quite add up, I don't really know how to use Instagram so I gave up. I meant to email Space NK to make them aware but I forgot!
OP and all others affected, I hope you get a refund as soon as possible. A very, very easy mistake to make, I nearly did it myself.
These scammers are so annoying.

I had this with a cricut machine, the site looked so legit. My bank refunded me.

I hope you get this sorted op. This came up for me this am and I did click through but then opened in chrome where I could then see the weird URL. It was incredibly convincing and the price wasn't really too good to be true either

Hope you get your money back. I'd cancel card too to be on the safe side.
We had a really stressful Boxing Day as my OH got scammed, clicked on a link in a text message that appeared to be from his cryptocurrency account company (yes, that was a stupid thing to do, he thought it was legit because it was in the same text thread as other messages that were from the company, he didn't know that scammers can make it appear like they're messaging from legit numbers) which gave them access to his account and locked him out. He thought there wouldn't be any customer service available on Boxing Day and was about ready to give up on all the money that was in there but I made him contact them and he managed to save all his money. Phew!

My bank said they’ll probably send some kind of rubbish and I’ll need to send whatever it is back to them. Imagine if I actually got the calendar!

I just raised it as a scam immediately

It is still advertised on instagram as I’ve just made the same mistake 😔just cancelled my card

Almost did this too yesterday. Reported it on Facebook. I'd have also assumed they'd vet things and that the penalties of committing fraud so brazenly wouldn't be worth the effort.

I just saw this ad too and decided to check SpaceNk website first. Glad I did as calendar says sold out.

Hope you get either the goods or money back.
I always google or look for reviews for anything now.

Does anyone know, if I've out my card details in to a web site but then my 2 step verification thing from bank asked me to verify and I didn't, just clicked cancel and closed page - are my card details still compromised ?

I don’t think you’d get much luck reporting it to instagram

you should report it to space nk, they have the legal rights and means to force that scam site to shut down

Instagram is a nightmare for spoofed retailer adverts linked to almost-copies of real online shopfronts. And there’s a scam for every interest: fake!Waterstones kept popping up in my feed with obscenely cheap books before Christmas.

I hope everyone who was tricked gets their money back & that their accounts & data remain safe & secure.

I’ve just been scammed too (£80). I feel like such an idiot…card cancelled, barclays advised me to wait for 15 days to see if the goods turn up and then they will raise a dispute through visa. Fingers crossed that I get something back. I have reported to SpaceNK

Did it have the padlock security symbol in the address bar?

I just had their ad popup on facebook, it really looks genuine!
They are going to make so much money 😡

Adding a picture, the padlock symbol is there (my phone is in French so all text is in Fr, but no obvious typo etc)
You can see the outletzoon address OP was talking about.
And very odd detail : on my 2nd screenshot you can see usernames « M*o from the UK recently bought this » as you sometimes do, well when I first clicked on the FB ad, the username displayed was all in clear and was something insulting like « Fucker » - to add insult to injury…

Me too, just spent £60 with 'Mountain Warehouse'. Soon as I got the order email I knew it was dodgy. Rung bank straight away and cancelled card. Tried to cancel order. Have a form to fill in from bank. Not expecting anything to arrive.
