Something sinister going on about Cocaine in the UK

Something sinister is going on.

We all know people on Cocaine, it's very very popular, every time i go in the toilets in my local bars on the weekend there's lads in there doing and dealing it.

Recenly it was reported that the UK is the second most popular country for cocaine..

We are an Island country. (excluding NI).

How the hell is so much getting in our borders? There are sniffer dogs and checks at airports and sea ports. You can very well imagine some is getting in..

But enough to feed a population of 67million? nah

I worked in the motor trade from 2014 - 2017 and I'd say 80%+ of the car salesmen (main dealer) did Coke. In the customer toilets. Nights out. Dealing in the car park. I was shocked.

I know a few car salesmen, that doesn’t surprise me at all.

I don’t know anyone who does Cocaine … I would never be friends with someone who did Cocaine - they are supporting the enslavement and murder of Children and Adults, so they can feel a bit more interesting. Anyone who does Cocaine is morally bankrupt

I love this pearl clutching post but I can guarantee that unless you're a recluse someone you know will be using

You can hear people sniffing in toilet cubicles everywhere you go including bars, hotels, restaurants

Don't be naive enough to think you're not

ChristmasCanFucawfee · 24/12/2023 21:29

But it isn’t enough for 67 million is it? Not every man woman and child in the uk uses it every day?!

The gov estimates I just looked up states about 2% of the adult population used cocaine at least once last year. Some people will use more than once. The vast majority of the population won’t use it at all.

The kids and I have just had our lunchtime line 😂😂

I must move in bad circles, I know lots of people
who do it or have done it in the past. I did it a lot in my twenties. Haven’t touched it in years though so no idea how much it would cost - it was expensive enough a decade ago!

I find it astonishing that you know our friends and family better than I do.

I don't go to bars.
I have never heard anyone sniffing in a toilet in a restaurant.
I rarely stay in hotels.

We lead a very boring life and don't go to these places where people go to take coke.

I think this says more about you and your lifestyle, as it does ours.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone in our local uses coke, but it isn't someone I know or talk to. Why is that so difficult to understand?

RampantIvy · 25/12/2023 12:46

And when I was young people did dope and LSD. Coke was called the champagne drug because it was so expensive, so I didn't know anyone who took it because it was out of their price range. The real price of it must be significantly reduced now.

General price guide although I gather it varies by region. From previous MN threads, it seems wise to consult dealer ratings on the dark web before proceeding with a purchase. (I learn so much from MN. I've fond memories of a thread in which I learned that vanilla powder is substantially more expensive than cocaine, possibly heroin.)

My friend has his delivered via courier. He works in the city and his deliveroo driver arrives with his meal deal and a bag of powder underneath the sarnies.

The price has gone down significantly through the years according to this friend. And it's so much easier to get hold of apparently.

The house party I was at Friday, there was always a line on the go in the kitchen. It's become so common place and acceptable now in my age range (late 40s)

MistressoftheDarkSide · 25/12/2023 13:21

@Alcyoneus

Basically nailed it.

It's like child abuse images on the Internet- they could do a damn sight more tackling that but they don't. Too many dodgy fuckers in high places turning a blind eye due to their own perversions.... and back handers.

There are probably dedicated public servants diligently working to make a difference in both drug trafficking and abuse of humans but as long as there's money to be made, damn the human cost so effectively they're pissing in the wind.

Cynical? You bet your sweet bippy I am.

My much missed late DP was quite the psychonaut in his youth - he used to say that coke was God's way of telling you that you have too much money...

Thanks @FestiveHackathon I actually don’t think it’s gone up much I swear it used to be about £50 a gram! Or maybe the purity of it has changed? Either way I am very glad to be out of that game basically sniffing money away!

hazandduck · 25/12/2023 13:32

Just saw your post @Plsdiscuss about it getting cheaper. Why would that be? Maybe there more of it getting in the UK as OP suspects

Treebeeqq · 25/12/2023 13:39

I live near a creek. Around a month ago I couldn’t sleep and got up and went for a walk. Small boat came in, slung two bags on to the shore and motored off again.

Car came and man got out . Picked up the bags. Went off

Maybe it is. More dealers competing on price as there's more custom to be had?

As a result of this thread, I googled how to get cocaine. Within 3 minutes, I've found a local dealer who will deliver to the door within 12 hours for a (presumed) reasonable price.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 25/12/2023 13:55

You wouldn’t bring it through a border at an airport though right ? Little boat turns up at a marina somewhere perhaps ?

RedRidingGood · 25/12/2023 13:58

I don't know anyone who does cocaine. Not seen anyone do it in a toilet bar etc either.

RampantIvy · 25/12/2023 14:04

Neither have I. TBH I don't really frequent bars. I really only drink in our local, and have never seen anyone do it there. Although I think I have only ever been the only one in the loos every time I have used them.

I'm frustrated with the posters who insist that nearly everyone does coke. They don't. They just need better friends.

Namechanged124db · 25/12/2023 14:33

I see no reason to do coke at all. My life is fine without it. Same goes with smoking

Edited

Apparently, the customer service ethos went through rapid change management and improvement during lockdown because of the absence of the usual trading places. (Things I've learned on mumsnet part 897.)

A creek? Are you in the U.K.?

Willyoujustbequiet · 25/12/2023 16:49

I'm another one doesn't know anyone who does cocaine. Judging by how many people are saying it on here I seem to be the norm not the exception.

PonyPatter44 · 25/12/2023 16:54

Well, if "all my friends " are doing it, they're not telling me and they're not sharing, which seems a trifle rude.

ChristmasFluff · 25/12/2023 17:08

Kinda similar to 'the creek' - my brother was, apparently, a fisherman. Used to go out on his boat of a night, and sometimes they even had a catch of fish.

This was in the 1980s, and he was not bringing in cocaine (too expensive in those days, so no market on his supply chain for it), but I doubt that customs are monitoring every small harbour in the country even now.

I don't know anyone doing cocaine, but I'm not the target audience - too old to know anyone who does drugs really. But everyone I knew when I was young used to do speed, and it seems cocaine is currently maybe similar as it's now more competitively priced? Or are we talking crack? Crack has been cheap for ages. Cos it wrecks you!

Rubyupbeat · 25/12/2023 17:09

It is commonplace and very easy to get hold of, cheap too. All drugs are evil, this causes violence and paranoia and once turned into crack is almost impossible to get off!
In the 70s, 80s only the rich used coke, it was so expensive, not now and huge amounts are available.
All dealers should get life, as thats what they take from those on the stuff.

byteme1011 · 25/12/2023 19:34

@SavageTomato i agree with you that legalisation is the solution, it's literally impossible to stop drugs being brought in/produced people will always take drugs reduce the harm, drug prices have decreased while they become stronger (same as prohibition in america) the more we try to stop the problem the more violent/hidden the issue becomes. Drug offences are what the vast majority of juvenile prisoners are in for, think it's our fault.

Morrisons01 · 25/12/2023 19:49

Arguably the biggest legal drug of all, that is a menace to society is booze, and the amout of drink drivers etc especially when is holiday seasons etc is omg.
