Are people really having a Sunday roast today? I'm working anyway so not cooking anything, but my SIL is grumbling on the family WhatsApp about having to do all the trimmings 2 days in a row!

No gammon, chips and sauerkraut.
With a glass of cava.

Definitely not. Waiting for our eldest DC to come over and we get take away.

I’m cooking our Christmas ham today which will be accompanied by Nigella’s dauphinoise potatoes and Delia’s red cabbage! DH will be cooking the roast beef tomorrow with all of the accompaniments 😋

It was due to be lasagne tonight, but no guests so changed to homemade pizza (which guest would not have liked). Would never do a roast on Christmas Eve if cooking (very likely) on Christmas Day.

We went to the pub for lunch - all the adults had a roast but the kids had chicken nuggets. Was lovely because we didn't have to cook it!

Youcannotbeseriousreally · 24/12/2023 17:45

We are having chippy tea!!

Woahtherehoney · 24/12/2023 17:50

no! Especially as we usually have a roast with leftovers Boxing Day - I LOVE a roast but I can’t do three in a row 🤣

Sandwiches for DP tonight and cheese, crackers and chutneys for me 😍

ChookChooks · 24/12/2023 17:58

Pizza & Prosecco today

Iamblossom · 24/12/2023 18:20

We've taken my dad out for a posh 3 course pub lunch and I am in a food coma

Projectme · 24/12/2023 18:26

Hell no. Picky tea for Xmas eve with prosecco on the side!

mondaytosunday · 24/12/2023 23:36

We went out to lunch with a family friend to a steak house - filling but no breakfast and we'll have a light supper. If we were staying home it would have been something simple and probably a takeaway tonight.
We don't do roast every Sunday anyway.

No, I made fish pie.

Thehop · 24/12/2023 23:39

We had a Sunday roast but we're going to an Indian restaurant for lunch tomorrow.

We had our Xmas ham on Saturday, DH made a healthy bean and butternut squash thing today (which leftover ham went with beautifully. Beef tomorrow then DD is going to make something veggie on Tuesday. Good balance of food and cooking.Xmas Smile

No way, we always have the ham Christmas Eve with jackets and salads and loads of homemade pickles and chutney.

doing a roast Christmas Day and again Boxing Day is more than enough!

Bread cheese and crisps most of the day .
Cant sleep and half tempted to go down and put a mini veggie 'steak' pie in the oven..
