...from Christmas related things. Santa lives at the North Pole and penguins at the South Pole. They are NOT Christmassy and yet they get their little beaky faces plastered on cards and T-shirts and wrapping paper.

Sticking Santa hats on random animals does not make them a symbol of Christmas.

@Samcro except they don't fill stockings like a more useful bird would. They do fuck all. Just stand around like they're waiting for a bar staff to ask them what they want to drink.

I admire your commitment to geographical accuracy. Plus, they're rubbish birds anyway. Much as I admire the cuteness of kiwis, what sort of crap avian can't fly? What is the actual point of a bird that's ground-bound? It's literally the antithesis of being a bird.

I wish they could be banned as my husband sees them all over the place (he has dementia) they live under our bed and I have to be careful they don't nip me when I go to the loo during the night. They have become a standing joke here.😃Better not tell him it is Penguine day in January.

Some places santa isn't even from the North Pole, where I'm from we say he lives in Greenland and I've heard in Finland they say he lives in Finland.
In any case penguins are adorable and I'd allow them part of Christmas Decs regardless of where santa claus lives.
Maybe he imported them as pets.
