...from Christmas related things. Santa lives at the North Pole and penguins at the South Pole. They are NOT Christmassy and yet they get their little beaky faces plastered on cards and T-shirts and wrapping paper.

Sticking Santa hats on random animals does not make them a symbol of Christmas.

They have as much to do with Christmas as turkeys and Christmas trees.

I got all hopeful that there was a Christmas-flavoured Penguin bar I’d missed! Sad times.

Why stop at penguins? Technically Santa Clause is irrelevant based on your logic considering Christmas on its rawest form is just about celebrating the birth of Christ. You’ve got too much time on your hands.

I live in Australia, we have santa hats on all manner of non- northpole animals, kangaroos pulling sleighs, Santa Koalas, Emus, wombats etc. And here Santa drives a rusty holden ute. Let the pengiuns be.

Also, nobody who designs cards and decorations knows the difference between a reindeer and any other type of deer. Reindeer look nothing like most other deer, and have very thick, shaggy fur, and are heavily built with blunt, quite bovine faces. They look nothing like red deer or fallow deer or roe deer.

I agree a little bit OP. They’re an animal from Antartica, they wouldn’t be seen next to a polar bear. It’s a bit like when baby clothes have a lion, giraffe, zebra and they’ll throw in a random panda or a Kanagoo.

However, I do like penguins and any excuse for more penguins is good in my book (just not next to a polar bear). But I’m also ok with other non-Christmas animals and when I used to send Christmas cards I pretty much wholly bought cards with animals in Santa hats.

I loved Clubs. Especially the orange ones.
I used to nibble the chocolate off the edges then suck the biscuit middle til it went soft.
