Fed up with the Instagram showing perfect homes, when the real world is much messier..: so show me your normal homes… here’s my messy (and a bit dated) kitchen

There's no way on God's Earth that I am going to post actual photos of my house - also CBA to namechange. But this is pretty much what my home looks like @Noseyneeps (pics taken from google!)

Well, the lounge, kitchen/diner anyway. I think my home is 'normal.' Nice though.

No matter how anonymous you think this might be, you can never be sure what happens to data in the future. Once it’s out there it’s there forever.

How is it not safe? I'm trying to think of what someone could do with a photograph of my kitchen that would be deemed unsafe? Even if they could somehow figure out where I lived, what could they do with that information?

Yeah this. Shame - as I think the OP has posted this with good/pure intentions. But as I said - no way am I posting pics of my actual own home. Sorry @Noseyneeps

This is my kitchen. I love it! Definitely not staged otherwise I would have shut all the drawers - and you can't see the washing up I haven't done yet.
I was 60 before I got the kitchen I wanted - and we don't have children at home which helps!

So that way of thinking, means Rightmove, where it names the actual street you live on, should not exist, or in fact, any estate agents if that's the case 😂😂

@Ironlights when I designed my kitchen I specified that the top cupboards should go up to the ceiling - just so that it was not possible to put anything on top of them! It makes it look so much tidier.....
And - I am very proud to say that over the last week we have been going through all the cupboards and drawers, sorting things out, reorganizing and cleaning. I'm feeling very virtuous 😁

Great idea for a thread. So refreshing to see normal homes! I'm sick of seeing the too good to be true ones. How anyone lives like that I'll never know. Even without 3 kids my house wouldn't look like some of them do.

My kitchen currently looks like a tornado he’s ripped through it. I wouldn’t mind but I had a day off work yesterday and blitzed it!

Other angles of the kitchen. As you can see, cupboards and worktops don’t match. Despite that, I do love my kitchen. It’s a great kitchen to cook in. And when friends come over we seem to spend all our time drinking tea in it
