Post party, not quite tidied kumitchen/dining room.

I must confess, the party was to celebrate that we had finally finished a whole load of work. It was the inky way I could get my ohbto finish the room, by holding a party.

Not everyone's taste, but we love it.

I wonder if the people whose anxiety outweighs their ability to risk assess the danger of putting a pic of their kitchen on the internet are the same famous MN posters who daren't open their front door if someone knocks.

I bet a Venn diagram of the two groups would pretty much be a single circle.

The thing is, what some people see as anxiety is actually common sense being applied, thinking further than others.

View from my spot on the sofa, our living room is a boring square 1990s build.

This is my favourite photo for the dog (Pygmy goat?) by the sofa and the long legged egg 😂.

All the kitchens are lovely and it’s actually really nice to see them being lived in. Not all are to my taste but still lovely to see so just ignore the sarky comments 🙄. Sadly I won’t be posting mine but FWIW it’s also very tidy! There’s definitely a difference between keeping tidy and Instagram level.

Agree.

Some are immaculate and beautiful yet the poster makes our they live in a right dive. Just makes people feel like shit

I have friends who have unbelievable gorgeous houses and then you visit and they say how shit it is and how they'll be ripping it all out and renovating. I don't invite them round to my house.

Kitchen is currently cluttered (and has been for weeks), not been cleaned since cooking, and the door came off the bin cupboard 6 years ago and it's still not been replaced.

Im too knackered to post a picture of my kitchen, as I have been helping my neighbour with her garden and I am now upstairs. So here is a picture of what I can see from my prostrate position on my bed

Just finished the end-of-day tidy round.

Not pictured: a conservatory full of wet washing, and a bath full of dirty washing (we had a boiler issue so have a backlog, which has been condemned to the bath while we clear it).

Kitchen fairly tidy but is a fairly recent refurb walls aren’t painted/decorated and socket plates dangling out. Still the red box in far corner is the start of the Xmas panettoni… all good.

My house is so messy compared to these. I can’t seem to keep it tidy and clean. It’s never ready for anyone to pop over unexpectedly. That’s a resolution for the new year!!
