Let's just rid the world of sprouts

I know MN love pretending that they like them. But nobody is impressed by your lies. Nobody wants them on the plate. So let's improve the world and rid it of these devil cabbages.

And don't try and ruin bacon by frying them together.

No. Cooked properly, they're delicious. Sprout soup, garlic roasted sprouts, fried sprouts either on their own or with bacon or blue cheese, fried sprouts with garlic, honey and marmite. They're only horrible when they've been boiled and salted to death.

I try not to judge people, but I do judge people who don’t like sprouts/cabbage etc.

I used to work for an Indian software house which had a local company bring in (very reasonably priced) lunches each day. One December lunchtime I was offered a sprout and bean curry and a couple of chapatis.
Such is the way madness lies.

YABU I lovely finely chopped sprouts fried in butter and pepper.

YABU - we have a tradition in my house where my children can ask for anything they like at all for their birthday breakfast. For the last 2 years in a row dd2 has asked for my Christmas sprouts. Yes they are fried with Bacon,in apple cider and honey with walnuts but she absolutely loves them.

Sprouts also make a delicious salad alternative. Shred uncooked sprouts, add cranberries, goats cheese and walnuts and sprinkle with a little avocado oil and sea salt. Delicious!

I love sprouts although I think they used to have a stronger taste? Is this a different variety thing? I'm sure a sprout farmer/expert will know 😀

fried with bacon
fried with breadcrumbs & cinnamon (personal favourite)
grilled & topped with cheese
shredded in stir fry
...

Love 'em with either cheese or bacon or both. But CINNAMON?!?! Seriously?

Yes they have definitely been modified over the decades to taste sweeter and less bitter. The original varieties aren't grown commercially any more.

My husband is a general veg hater, even peas don't grace his plate, but he randomly really loves sprouts. Me? Well I love all veg and sprouts are definitely up there with the best, as long as they aren't over cooked of course!
