Trans women do not have periods.

According to period pants maker Modibodi, transwomen can have 'periods'. Periods which are just as valid apparently.

Whilst I'm not going to suggest I know what hormone treatment tied to a trans woman, I can confidently say that no, they don't have periods. Periods involve blood. Trans women don't bleed.

Modibodi seem to acknowledge that there is no bleeding involved I transwomen's 'periods' but bizarrely under a section on how to manage their periods, trans women should wear period pants. For the life of all God's WHY???! Wtf would wear period pants if they didn't have to?

Did anyone actually click onto the website and look at the products before all the screeching started?

"screeching", eh?

And there's the misogyny, right there.

HootyMcBooby · 20/12/2023 12:09

Surely you NEED to be male to qualify as a transwoman?

Or am I missing something here? I thought it was one of the pre-requisites?
Otherwise they would just be women, wouldn't they?

Can I be a transwoman? Can my daughters be transwomen?

I'm female and I thought I could be both a woman and trans as it's such a wide and inclusive term, but it's unclear due to definitions being seen as bigoted and exclusionary. Happy for a definitive clarification.

Wait for the "frothing", that's usually next.

Then hysteria.

This whole ideology is about removing women's rights to privacy, dignity and safety. It is dedicated to forcing women and girls to shower, use the toilet and change in the presence of males. (see school toilets; Lia Thomas for example. Listen to Riley Gaines talking about Lia's antics in the changing room and the silencing and coercion of the poor girls who were bullied into going along with it). It is forcing the acceptance of men taking women's medals and prizes in sport and putting them at serious risk of injury in contact sports. Tanikka Brents had her skull fractured by Fallon Fox. Fallon Fox enjoys beating up women and easily got a free pass to do it.
This ideology wants to normalise the sterilisation and mutilation of children who are statistically likely to be autistic, have suffered sexual abuse, are in care, are gay, are experiencing homophobia. Thereby making lots of money for the pharmaceutical industry and rogue surgeons.
This ideology removes the rights of lesbians to have spaces to meet and socialise without men.
It wants to remove the rights of raped and abused women to access single sex spaces in refuges, rape crisis centres and prisons and is doing so successfully.
Imagine being compelled to refer to the man who raped you as She and Her in court.
I can't see what is kind about any of this. I am disgusted by any commercial company going along with any of it. Over 90% of males who say they identify as women have no surgery or hormone treatment and no intention of doing so. They are straight, adult males with a well documented paraphilia. It needs to stop and IMO the women who pander to this are worse than the men.

VolvoFan · 20/12/2023 13:03

It used to be widely accepted that men are men and women are women. Men cannot be women and women cannot be men. There are also effeminate men and there are also masculine women. Additionally, there are gay men and there are lesbian women.

All was fine in the world.

And then full-strength crazy came along. I don't like it.

I want to go back.

jeaux90 · 20/12/2023 13:10

@comfyoldcardi well said

And another thing. Re the "but some women don't have periods, and they're still women, so TW are women" argument.

It's a complete logical fail to start with - you might as well say "well some cats don't miaow, and dogs don't miaow, so dogs are cats if they feel like cats". To be able to say this requires a complete lack of understanding of how logic and facts work. Have a think about it.

But also, if this were the case, why aren't period companies making a big deal about these women who aren't having periods? I bet some of them wish they were, and I bet some of them have hormonal fluctuations, so... why not a marketing campaign with a smug non-menstruating woman wearing period pants and instructions on how to handle your "period" that consists of a couple of hormonal ups and downs and some wishful thinking, by popping on some comfy period pants for validation?

Or would that be completely bonkers, rude and inappropriate? Hmmmm.

Pandering to TW is not about a real situation. It's about a big pretence. We aren't expected to indulge people's pretences in other contexts, perhaps aside from young children or people who are very unwell. Especially not pretences that are sexually motivated - which a lot of TW's are. Increasingly so, precisely because the trans trend and the public messaging has been all about (if you like to dress up as a woman ands get a thrill from pretending to have a woman's body, you're included under the trans "umbrella" and everyone must bow down and validate you." That's encouraged all kinds of dodgy men to come out of the woodwork and try their luck and loads of naive women to cheer them on because "LGBTQ+ rights".

This trans ideological push has been helped by manufacturers and brands that see it as a new pool of customers.

Tampax couldn't sell to men before, now they can.
Couldn't sell period knickers to men before, now they can.

Even Sandwiches, sling a silly logo or ugly flag on and virtue signal whilst flogging tat to make billions for old men.

It's all about the money.

Beat thing you can do, is email them and tell them to shove their period pants up their wombs

I doubt it's financially driven. Realistically sales to transwomen are going to be minuscule.

MargotBamborough · 20/12/2023 13:43

@CatMadam I didn't see your reply to me because it has been deleted.

Can I assume it didn't address the issue of being kind to female rape survivors who need single sex support?

Edinburghguy · 20/12/2023 13:48

Yeah and if my granny had baws… she’d be my grandpa.

Wish this nonsense would just disappear but there a hard political agenda behind it.

Genuine question: How can a trans-woman have cramps if they don't have a uterus?

Hormonal changes I get because of the synthetic hormones that are taken, but I don't understand why they feel cramping? What organ is cramping?

Hiddendoor · 20/12/2023 14:02

Apologies if someone has already replied to @Ramalangadingdong but there is no "time of the month" for trans women.

The time of the month is a euphemism for a woman's period.

My understanding is that the only reason some trans women experience hormonal changes on some sort of cyclical basis is down to their own management of their hormonal medication.

There is no need or reason for trans women to alter the levels of oestrogen they take. By doing that, there is a change in moods or other symptoms caused by reducing and increasing oestrogen.

However, oestrogen alone doesn't make a menstrual cycle.

There is no "time of the month" without menstruation and a menstrual cycle.

Even for women on the pill, the only reason there is a regular bleed is not down to some overriding womanly desire to have a period but down to the Catholic Church and the patriarchy.

But, you know. Time of the month or whatever. Be kind etc etc.

Try reading the thread and you'll find out.

I did read the thread mostly, I just got bored of seeing your transphobic comments repeatedly.

If a transwoman wants to spend money on period pants then that is their choice. I could wear boxers if I wanted to, or go commando, how would it affect you?

It could be either constipation, or from reading twitter feeds, that the copious amounts of chocolate they consume for their supposed PMT has caused a laxative effect.

Either way, if they are 'cramping' they genuinely need to go to get medical advice.

I haven’t seen any transphobic comments? There’s a few deleted comments but they seem to be the user names of people who were saying this is all fine and that pp were being transphobic, so I presume they were not transphobic.

If a transwoman wants to wear period pants that’s their choice. What I personally object to is a female hygiene product manufacturer lying that men can have a uterus and lying that a period is not bleeding from the womb lining but just hormone fluctuations.

If anyone could actually explain what is transphobic, preferably before Christmas, I'll grow my own penis.
