Pictures of niece in hospital all over SM but no idea what's wrong

So bil has posted pics of niece in hospital. She been in for a few days evidently. Lots of what's wrong? Hope she is OK? Posts from family, But nothing to say what is up with her. It's dhs brother kid. I don't feel like engaging over sm and it was serious surely mil or bil would have said? Any way it's up to dh to ask.

A a&e trip I can understand a quick frustrated hand hold FFS type post. But this feels different. She been in for days before posting on FB. Got to ask via SM what's going on? Am I being weird not to ask on SM? Leaving it to dh to ask directly.

Phoned mil as instructed. Tonsillitis. Obviously not in the UK.

As a side note imagine get that level of care in the UK!

Not sure why bil didn't get back to dh or tell anyone why on FB buy it looks like a non issue

Because he’s a drama llama twat.

Social media posts of hospital stays are made by attention seekers who revel in the comments.

Ask yourself if your previous child was so I'll they had to be kept in hospital for a few days, would you be plastering their picture on Facebook? Of course not. Let them get in with it and ignore.

There is NOTHING anybody can say to persuade me that hospital social media posts are anything other than attention seeking bollox.

@ChampagneLassie isn't that what a group text message is for?

iljafjpr · 16/12/2023 20:07

I have to admit that I have once posted about an operation on facebook, but only once I was home. I didn't post about the examination leading to diagnosis, nor the pre-op examinations at the hospital nor on the day itself.
But it was something I wanted to make people aware of after the event because it was a condition that doesn't usually occur in people in their 40s and wanted to raise some awareness of the early symptoms.
I'm not posting it on here under this username because I don't want any friends or family recognizing me and linking it to things I've been discussing on another thread under this name.

So yeah, I suppose one time I was a social media attention seeking twat, after the event but I wasn't sitting in my hospital bed with a miserable face with a check-in "at X hospital, Y town" type post and waiting for the "Oh no, what's happened hun?" stuff to start!

I know this sounds strange but phone and ask

bakebeans · 16/12/2023 21:01

Is it one of those 'omg hope everything ok?' And I'll reply with 'I'll inbox you'. Cannot be doing with that shit!

Dh did that and got no reply. Mil has filled us in. Should have asked her first really

I unfriend anyone on FB who posts a cryptic hospital post along with a close up of their hospital wrist band or cannula. Attention seeking nonsense.
