To call the authorities - trigger warning

Just seen this by the bins, it is in good condition and there is a piece of fabric on it.
Recycling bin is accross the street
My first thought was: did they throw a baby in the rubbish?

Why else would you post about it on MN unless you were worried?

If you are worried about baby has been put in a fucking bin Mumsnet isn't really the 'go to' for the situation.

So shocked at you all mocking the op and laughing at her question. She’s Worried and looking for reassurance. Shame on you all.

Worried a baby has been stolen because there is a pram?

what on earth reassurance can be given for this?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/12/2023 08:45

You really can't cure stupid

MaryMcCarthy · 07/12/2023 10:59

Bottom line is you considered there might be a baby in a bin, but you left the area to post about it on the internet, rather than doing anything to help the potentially dumped baby.

Sorry but those actions suggest you're not all there.

Are you particularly tired or stressed at the moment?

If there was a baby in the bins I thought it might be the deceased body rather than alive

And what did your search uncover?

Why were you 'attentive for noises' then?

that is the point though

the area designated for this and the recycling items are literally less than 10 steps away

Do you not think that “Some people are lazy and don’t pay attention to designated recycling areas” is a much more likely explanation for this than “Someone’s put a baby in the bin”?

Seeing a pushchair by the bins and thinking “Well, this must mean someone’s murdered a baby” instead of “Tsk, they could have left that in the right place” is absolutely not a rational thought process. Are you OK?

So... you thought there was a dead baby in the bins... but because it was dead you'd just leave it there and post on Mumsnet?

Jesus I don't know. Maybe I'm alone in my thoughts, but I seriously could not fathom believing there was a baby, dead or alive, in bins then posting on a forum. I'd have called the authorities if I truly believed there was no doubt a baby there, again, dead or alive, then I'd get into those fucking bags and look for it.

Or they put it on freegle for someone collect. People do give stuff away in good condition.
