Is it just becoming the norm? How is everyone affording it in a cost of living crisis?

@Bahhambug someone with naturally full lips have the same fullness top and bottom.
Rubbish. Natural lips are usually more full in the lower lip in fact that is one giveaway with filled lips. The top lip is filled too much to match the bottom.

zinfi · 24/11/2023 20:55

It’s about £200 every 3-6 months. That’s an extortionate price to look so ridiculous.

Depends where you go. That's higher end. Unfortunately I've seen plenty of people offering over a ml for £50-60. Lowest was £45, but that was some special offer. It does the reputable people a disservice in my opinion.

I don't know why you'd be wanting to top up every 3-6 months either, though I expect there are those do that. Initially, if you've never had filler before, you might want to have half a ml injected at a time, a few weeks later, to avoid migration, but after that I think it's more like 12-18 months approx.

Cincinnatus · 22/11/2023 23:18

I can always tell. However ‘natural‘ someone thinks they are. I assume they have self esteem issues which is sad. Or they want sexual attention.

Ah yes. Another one who can 'always tell'. Which of course is nonsense as you have no idea who has or has not filled their lips. You will have no idea if women around you with well filled lips have had them filled. You'll just think they have great natural lips and continue with your delusion that you can always tell. People who are convinced they know things they couldn't possibly know bemuse me.

zinfi · 24/11/2023 20:57

I don't think you should be saying women who think their lip filler looks good have mental health issues @Itsmehi222

That’s an incorrect time frame. 3 months is rare admittedly, 6 months is not.

Lip filler for £50-£60 😮 🚩 🚩 🚩

In many cases it’s delusional though.

zinfi · 24/11/2023 20:59

I did say approximately. It will depend on a variety of factors.

You are misinformed.

@SweetBirdsong @MsRosley this conversation about whether or not people can tell has been done to death on many many threads. People are smugly claiming they can tell only to get it completely wrong when shown a line up of some filled and some natural. They not surprisingly disappear from the threads when their brilliant observational skills are proven to be wanting. Sorry but you are both a little bit deluded.

zinfi · 24/11/2023 21:00

Fair point. In that some don't seem to notice that they have bad migration etc.

Edit but it’s very inappropriate to say they have mental health issues.

Humans are expert at sitting fake and slightly off appearance. It’s a horrible flaw/ genetic advantage.

I completely judge anyone who has had this done for non-reconstructive reasons. I’d think you were weak, a bit vapid, and appearance- obsessed. I know many regular folk have it done but northern me just can’t shake off the disdain

Funnily enough I judge people who go around carrying nasty views about people who are just happily living their lives. You should try it. You might find yourself a wee bit happier in life Pet.

Peckahminn11 · 22/11/2023 23:57

I also cannot stand it. It simply does not look natural no matter how little you have. You can ALWAYS TELL. I have friends that have it and it looks bloody gross. I've had a tiny bit of Botox to ease the wrinkles but you wouldn't know and that cost me a fortune in itself

AMAZING how you think lip filler is soooo obvious but your Botox isn't. Hilarious

And did that line up show video of people moving their mouths and talking? No, I thought not. Of course you can't necessarily tell from a photo. But filler doesn't move the same way natural tissue does, so perhaps you're a little bit deluded, sweetie.

drowningfrowning · 24/11/2023 21:47

@MsRosley you seem to struggle with understanding that there is no way you can claim to always know. You can't know as you don't know. Claiming to know what you can not categorically know shows a complete lack of self awareness and dare I say, intelligence.

Christ? What’s Christ about it?

The lengths women will go to for this one ideal look of beauty is insane. It just doesn’t work for everyone and women are becoming (very bad) clones of this one ideal. It’s ruining the unique beauty of women everywhere. It’s sad and a horrible industry.

Christ in the fact that you’re saying if someone likes lip filler then they have body dysmorphia or mental health issues.

How fucking judgemental can you get. Just shut up. If you want to make a difference to society and women’s unique beauty then get out and go to some mental health support groups and air your patronising opinions there.

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 25/11/2023 06:08

@Peckahminn11 oh the delicious irony 😂😂😂

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 25/11/2023 06:15

@HeathrowQuestion and I am also judging you for your nasty, closed minded, spiteful contempt of other women who are doing you no harm whatsoever. What a truly horrible mindset to carry around with you. (And it has nothing to do with being northern. You're just not a good person.)

There is certainly a school of thought that says beauty standards have evolved so much over the last decade or so, away from whiteness and thinness (like the supermodels of old) towards fetishising aspects of blackness such as filler and BBLs. Except it seems that too much blackness could never be embraced, which is why you see so many white celebs criticised for blackfishing but seemingly opting for a more “mixed race” aesthetic.

The Kardashians are a great example of this, at least three of whom have embraced filler and BBLs to a massive extent, and having children with black men. I won’t go into it any deeper but there’s a lot of discussion online about how the Kardashians really dictated the cultural zeitgeist for so many years, and curiously they seem to be dissolving their filler, removing their BBLs and dating white men…

This is really interesting @Jellycats4life - is there somewhere in particular you’d recommend going to read more about this?

I argue with my daughter that the skinny brow will make a full return. Everything is a fashion, absolutely everything. They are always eventually followed by their opposites.
Major fashions such as jeans/ eyebrows styles last about 10- 15 years. First 5 is for the most fashionable, last 7 ish even the mums got onboard. Last two even the grandmas do. That tips the kids over the edge so they revolt against it with the opposite.

The skinny brow is already on its way back - look up Gabriette Bechtel. Looks like a 90’s Angelina Jolie.

heartbroken40 · 25/11/2023 06:30

I LOVE lip fillers on other ladies (I would never get them). When I was OLD, many men told me I stood out with my natural beauty. I'm in my 40s, never had anything done but I use tretinoin and minoxidil for hair so I have nice natural skin and hair

Bit rich you telling me to get mental health support. Clearly I’ve touched a nerve, you should reflect on that.

They didn't suggest you go for support. Try reading again. You seem so angry that you aren't reading properly.

drowningfrowning · 25/11/2023 11:23

@Itsmehi222 there is absolutely nothing body dismorphic, bj, sex doll, deluded, messed up mental health or any of the other frankly appalling things people have suggested about fillers when done well. It's no different from colouring one's hair or having any other beauty treatments done. Do you think wearing makeup is all about deluded women with serious mental health issues that are suffering with dismorphia?

Did I seem angry? My mistake, I wasn’t intending that at all. It can be a little hard to understand the inflictions when reading text.

Lip fillers can look good in photos and ridiculous in real life. The first picture is a great example of that.

Do you have lip filler? You seem to be highly offended by my opinion. It’s just not nice at all, and it’s delusional that women think it looks good.
